Fossheim Hotel is a historical and traditional hotel in the middle of Lom in Jotunheimen. Here you get good accommodation in a tranquil atmosphere. In the restaurant you can enjoy both traditional Norwegian food and gourmet cuisine prepared by local products from the nearby national parks. Can definitely recommended for tourists who want to experience Norwegian traditions closely.

We arrived in Lom in late afternoon after a long day and drive from Flam. We had stayed at a historic hotel in Flam we liked and saw this one in their book of historic hotels in Norway. The room was of good size and the bed was comfortable. It also had a nice balcony with a great view. But... More

Thank you for your review Moorerf! We appreciate all feedback and are truly sorry your stay with us did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately our building is around 100 years old, so it is difficult to meet todays expectations with plumbing, floor layout and roomsizing. We are a classified Nationalparkvillage Hotel. Therefore we strive to have an enviroment-friendly operation with... More

stayed here two nights. This hotel is member of "The Historic hotels an restaurants in Norway" The hotel is Family run and has a nice atmosphere. According to information given by the staff it was established as an accomodation for travelers back in 1897. Some of the rooms seems a bit dated and the walls are quite thin as we... More

I stayed at this hotel many years ago and still remember the wonderful gourmet meal I had at the time. The room was tired and needed renovation. The big disappointment however was the restaurant in the hotel. I ordered grouse breast as the main course, like last time, but the meat was totally tasteless and dry. The only positive memory... Great views and restaurant. Do not miss the rock and gem shop next door. You need to go past the retail shop to the rock collection and museum which is outstanding and very impressive. Museum and University quality rocks and gems.

This was a unique hotel. It is owned by my sister-in-law's relatives. It has rooms in the main building, but also cabins which is where we stayed. It was like camping with a restaurant near by! The breakfast buffet was very good! Loved the homemade jams and breads! You can also tour the gift shop which carries jewelry made from... More

We stayed here for two nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Our room had a good size and also a balcony with a nice view of the village. The staff was service-minded and helpful. Recommended by the tourist office as an eperience. Have stayed at other historic hotel so were expecting the same standard from their standard room. Bathroom poor, loose doorhandle and toilet seat, shower flooded the floor. Clean room, comfortable bed but very tired surroundings. Food disappointing after all the hype, small portions so glad we hadn't had a big day walking!

Overall really enjoyed our stay. Fossheim menu & wine package delicious. Main criticism is the bathroom, which could have been cleaner, larger and more luxurious. Did not provide drying facilities for rain-soaked hikers, an essential based upon location.
