We enjoyed our stay in this charming restored hotel and found the proprieters to be very friendly helpful and generous with their time. The breakfasts were good ,typically French Provençal and as much as you required.I had injured my leg previously and upon the owner seeing this he went out of his way to help. There is much to see and... My husband & I stayed at Hotel de Provence for one night during our visit to the Camague - we wish it could have been longer! The hotel was built as a Provencal 'Gentelman's residence' & it retains many original features notably in the dining room, guest's lounge on the first floor, staircase & the bedrooms. Our room was very... More

A hotel that is so clearly cared for by the proprietor and his team, they go that little extra to make your stay as smooth and pleasurable as possible. I don't normally go to the trouble of writing a reference, but the couple that run the hotel is worth it! Hats of and enjoy your stay at this cosy, clean... More

My boyfriend and I spent a wonderful time in the Hotel de Provence. We got a lot more than we expected! The room was well decorated, spotlessly clean and very spacious. Our room came with a salon, terrasse and cute bathroom. The property came under new ownership three months ago and a lot of work was done to upgrade the... More

We spent one night here by luck. We got the room with the terrace. Since we were tired and glad to be in one place, we decided to just have dinner and wine outside on the terrace. The owner sold us some wine---yes, we drank three bottles. We went across the street to a Kabob place and got take out... More

Four of us spent one night at the Hotel de Provence after stopping at many hotels between Aix en Provence and Tarascon. Most hotels had no rooms available and those that did were of poor value. The hotelier at Hotel de Provence greeted us in English and helped with our bags. We took two rooms that were large and newly... More

I stayed here for one night in May during a cycling holiday. The Hotel de Procence is elegant and well appointed with nice bedrooms and very good facilities. The owners are friendly and helpful and provide a fine breakfast. Tarascon makes a very good overnight stop with an interesting and not over-busy town for which the hotel is very handily... More

We stayed here early May 2012 as part of a cycle tour. Tarascon itself leaves a little to be desired but is mid way to what the Provence has to offer. Great Breakfast, Great Bathroom and all with new owners that have only been in the business for 2 months.

Under new management, this small hotel is a gem. Tarascon is an excellent base for travels out into Provence with easy access to Pont du Gard and other sites. The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean. The excellent breakfast at the large dining table with other guests is charming. The only small complaint I have is the wifi wasn't strong... More

I, too, stayed in this hotel and this town in May, 2011 and agree fully with ILUS. There is nothing about Tarascon or "Hotel de Provence" to attract or charm anyone as both are very poor. Our front-facing room in this worn-down hotel from 80 years ago was large--a suite with a sunroom in fact--but very old, worn out (including... More
