Like some other reviewers, we stayed here following a beautiful drive through Castellane and the Verdon Canyon. We arrived in the early afternoon to check in and then walk to the character filled village of Moustiers Sainte-Marie. Jean Louis is indeed memorable. A colorful character yes. Helpful? Absolutely. Cares about his guests? Oui! He was a quick responder with emails... More

First of all, this place is really more like a cross between a hotel and a large B&B - it is run by a colourful and eccentric local character, Jean-Louis, who tries his best to cater to your needs and tell you all about the interesting local sights and things to do in the area. First off, if you are... More

If you don't mind a 10min walk uphill to the centre of the village where you find a lot of nice restaurants this is a very good place to stay for a couple of nights. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. We also very much enjoyed to relax in the garden nipping a drink (there is a... More

This is small hotel in one of the tourist hotspots of Provence. Moustieres is a beautiful and interesting town with plenty of good restaurants and this authentic little place lies at the foot of it a steep but short climb up to the town centre. Very well situated but probably not ideal for older people in view of the climb.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our night here. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers and were wanting to escape the coast for a couple of days and explore the Verdon area. Despite the fact that it poured with rain (in August) we had lovely night here. The bedrooms were uncluttered spotless and spacious. All seemed freshly decorated. Breakfast... More

We were on our 14 days trip through la provence and we booked a night in this hotel. After the difficuties of finding the hotel (match with google maps), we finally found it below the village. The host (Jean Luis) was nice with us, and gave us a room on the first floor when he realized that my wife was... More

The hotel is nothing special, rooms are normal, really nothing special. Bathroom is quite old and bathtub is without any protection so having a shower means messing up the room. In addition the shower phone has no support on the wall at all... We booked the room and specified we had a dog. At the time of check in they... More

The owner and host, Jean Luise is a unique character, who provided us with a most memorable stay at his place. His sense of homour and hospitality is second to none. He looked after us fabulously and is worth getting to know a little more. Of course you need to speek french to be able to get his depth of... More

We stayed for two nights recently at the Bastide du Paradou...the location is excellent...although if you want to walk up into town it is a little hike, but fun if you are in shape. Moustier is wonderful...one of our favorite villages in all of Provence. The hotel did present problems for us...the air conditioner did not work...and it was difficult... More

We spent 2 nights here and loved it. The host is most forthcoming with info on where to go, what to do, and good restaurants. The hotel is actually below the town, but there is an easy and scenic walk up. Breakfast was good value and extensive. Room was very spacious, bathroom also good (but not large). We bought a... More
