We spent one night at this magical place. The house is beautiful and provides a very authentic Provence experience. The room is cozy and, peaceful and pleasent. The house drowns in green and flowers with a wonderful mountains view. The owner is very friendly and offers assistance whenever required. We will hopefully be able to visit here again.

We have found a little piece of (summer) heaven at Les Means. The two bedroom apartment is perfect for a family of four. The kids (12 & 9) have been very restful in their comfortable twin room. The apartment is very clean, has everything we need and the breakfasts are an ideal start to the day. I can't imagine there... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the three nights we spent at Les Means. Elizabeth, the host who speaks fluent English from her time in England, was extremely friendly and accommodating. Her suggestions for restaurants and places to visit were very helpful. Le Means situation offers stunning views of the nearby mountains. Our room was very large and comfortable. We really enjoyed the... More

This is a stop that we owe to Trip Advisor, for which we are most grateful. We had two free nights after arriving in Nice before meeting up with family at a house in Provence at the end of June, and decided to use them to drive north to the lower part of the Haute Savoie, which we hadn’t visited... This was our favourite overnight in the French Alps. Up a narrow dirt road finds you at this ancient French chateau, where the word 'rustic' is inadequate. Host Elisabeth was very warm in her welcome & most helpful, and her English (Australian?) is very good. Much thought, time, & love has gone into the restoration, without losing any of the... More

What a wonderful place. We stayed in a part of the house that was built in the 12th C. The "newer" part of the house was built in the 15th C., and all of it has been beautifully updated and maintained. In our room the walls were a meter thick! Elisabeth was so warm and welcoming. She take such personal... More

Elisabeth is a very friendly proprieter with good command of English. Old rustic building with difficult stairs so no good for anyone with impaired mobility. Rooms rustically furnished with comfortable beds & tea-making facilities. Bring your own teabags, coffee and milk. Breakfast adequate but not outstanding. Wonderful views up the valley. Can be a little difficult to find up a... More

Had a great night at this wonderful little hide away location. Our room, pictured above, was wonderful. It had a small kitchen, washing machine, eating areas both inside the suite and outside on the terrace. We had a wonderful picnic as the sun set over the mountains and a nice breakfast in the charming breakfast room. Really worth a visit... More

We stayed in a superior suite which had stunning views of the landscape. The suite was massive and more like a little flat. Good points: 1.) Kitchen in suite with cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, table and chairs 2.) huge lounge / bedroom area with table and chairs, two sets of sofas and double/queen bed 3.) wet room type bathroom with...
