We stopped at Ye Olde English Inn because the street was quaint, inviting, and quiet compared to the Branson landing. We shopped at a few antique stores and then got a beverage at the pub attached to the inn. We received great service, and enjoyed some great local beer from Mother's brewery and White River brewery in Springfield. The friendly... More

Stopped at Ye Olde English Inn and their adjacent Black Horse Pub. It was a 95 degree day in Branson Mo and we wanted to escape the craziness of The Landing in Branson. Took a five minute drive to Hollister MO and wandered in to the Black Horse Pub. Staff was friendly and bent over backwards to make their customers... More

Really enjoyed our stay at the Ye Olde English Inn. The restoration is beautiful and the staff is very friendly, I wish I had booked one of the beautiful suites but our room was still very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home including flowers for our celebration. The restaurant was very friendly... More

My experience started when I checked in and then went to the attached restaurant to get something to eat. The restaurant appeared to be very nice and recently updated. I ordered a Reuben sandwich, what I received was a Ham sandwich that had sourkrout on it. There are some basic issues here. What cook does not know what comprises a... More

I stayed at this B&B in April, 2013. They were going through a renovation and there was a strong smell of paint and turpentine in the air - the hotel did not inform me about this beforehand. The front desk has only a single clerk who oftentimes is not there - so one has to wait for a while before... More

I have to admit up front to being biased in my review. The English Inn was built and owned by my grandfather, William Wood Johnson, and his father, William Howard Johnson, was one of the first mayors of Hollister. So the property holds a special place in my heart. But I will say that the owner, author Janet Dailey, has... More

We spent part of our Christmas holiday in Hollister at Ye Olde English Inn. It was very pleasant to stay in a hotel that wasn't a national chain. It was quaint, interesting and unique. The Inn has an interesting history stretching back over a hundred years. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant was first class and I loved the big... More

Wife and I were there In November to celebrate her birthday, and she loved the place before we ever walked in. She loves the old English look, but I did not tell her where we were staying. As we drove by, she pointed out how pretty it was, and she was so happy when I stopped the door. (No, we're... More

Completely elegantly restored, this charming 100 year old hotel located on historic Downing Street, is like the eye in the middle of a hurricane surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the hurried, confusing and busy Branson. Beautiful rooms, attention to detail and friendly service await your visit to this conveniently located hotel.
