Due to a masive snow storm that hit st louis overnight and had parts of the interstate shut down, I was forced to get a hotel to wait out the worst of the overnight storm. Due to the storm, every decent hotel within a 40 mile radius of downtown was completely booked. Though this is not a hotel I would have selected under normal circumstances, I reasoned that I just needed a place to sleep for a few hours before I hit the road again. The first issue I found upon reaching my room was the obvious disrepair/half-hearted attempt at repairs. There was a large (18"x18") hole in the wall between the sleeping area and the bathroom that had been patched with plaster but not sanded or painted to try to hide the damage. The pipes in the bathroom had obviously busted and the repair to the shower was anything less than disturbing with galvanized pipes hanging out of exposed wall, the soap dish in the shower was caked with old soap, and the tile in the bathroom is four different... more
