Spent this night at Rockcliffe last week with my husband. What an amazing B&B. I've stayed at many B&B's and there's nothing like it in the Country. Its like stepping back in time. The most memorable part of the experience is having breakfast in the formal dining room that the original family dined in, furnished with all their furniture from... More

The new owners wanted to buy and restore a historical residence to its former glory; they are about halfway through the restoration having restored the interior so that the bedrooms and other rooms have either original or period furnishings, but at the same time are very comfortable. After dinner in town and a walk on the river and around town,... More

This home has the most fabulous woodwork and furniture I have ever seen, supposedly built to be the finest home in Missouri, and I believe it. In fact it rivals the finest homes and furnishings I have seen ever. Pocket doors and windows, marble fireplaces, impressive stairway leading upstairs, and the beds which look beautiful on the website are even... More

Rockcliffe Mansion is incredible! Every room has been restored with the original artifacts of the Rockcliffe family (or antiques from the same time period when it was not possible to use the Rockcliffes' items). Every room is beautiful and unique. Visiting there is a trip back in time that shows how the upper class lived in the early 1900's. On... More

We stayed in the Magnolia Room and found it delightful. The period fixtures and furniture made it seem like stepping back in time. We wandered from room to room several times and saw something new each time. If you love old historic homes and exceptional hospitality be sure to give the mansion a try.

This house was neglected and left to rot while the owners watched from the house next door. Thankfully, it was saved in the 1950s and turned into a museum. The current owner, Juan, has returned it to a beautiful comfortable home. It's a stunning building with mostly original furnishings, artwork and magnificent Tiffany glass throughout. It has a commanding position... More

We stayed here for one midweek night. The mansion is a beautiful Gilded Age home which is open for public tours during the day. There are many original furnishings. plus other antiques of the era which the innkeeper, Juan, has purchased. The woodworking, furniture and accessory pieces truly make this a show home. As long time B & B travelers,... More

My husband is interested in architecture and I in birds. So, we jumped at the opportunity to spend the weekend at Hannibal's architectural masterpiece: Rockcliffe Mansion. We stayed in Mr. Cruikshank's grand bedroom with a fine view of the Mississippi. My husband surprised me with a dozen roses and a box of chocolate waiting for me in the room. In... More

We had never stayed in a museum/B&B before and wanted to try it. Good decision. The 1900 mansion is huge and crammed with original furniture, stained glass, Tiffany lamps, grand pianos, etc - the best money could buy a century ago. We stayed in the Magnolia room with a view of the Mississippi. Mostly original stuff but genial owner/host Juan... More

Second stay this year just as wonderful as first. Breakfast is off the chart. As I said before: Been to nearly all the antebellum mansions in the Old South, but this is different and magnificent. Bigger is only the starting point (and it is huge). More of everything is the rule: rooms, floorspace, ceiling heights, and ESPECIALLY original furnishings, decor... More
