My family enjoys coming here twice a year for the past couple of generations. We've stayed at almost all the little motels up in town and all the little ones on the way down to the river, and we enjoy the cabins down in the park. Our latest visit was on par for the place. They don't always have the... More

I belong to a large organization that held a camp out at Roaring River this weekend. The park is beautiful, and the lodge lobby is tastefully decorated. However, the rooms left a lot to be desired and had a strange odor. However, the worst part were the women at the front desk. They were hateful, unhelpful, and downright rude. Will... More

A large group stayed in three cabins between July 31st and August 3rd of 2015. After a couple of days, my wife and I started itching. When quizzing the rest of our party, another couple in the next cabin also related tiny red circles on torso, arms, and legs that started to itch. I happened to have a dermatologist visit... More

An absolute natural/beautiful setting in the Ozark hills...a wonderful place for families...observe the use of picnic areas...large and small gatherings all dominated by family and social groups. Catch a lot of trout....fly fishing is such a fascinating past time...its you and the fish...equal playing field...who wins, fisherman or fish. Come to this place if you like what is was like... I agree with the last reviewer--the lodge is a lovely building and the restaurant was basic but totally satisfactory, although, like the rest of the lodge was understaffed. We had a really good breakfast with plenty of food. The beds were comfortable. However, our room looked and smelled as if it had not been thoroughly cleaned in a very long... More

I'm not into fishing, but my hubby and son are so I joined them for a day at Roaring River State Park. It was beautiful! I was amazed at how clean & clear the water was, you could actually see the fish, trout is the main catch. Numerous hiking trails of varying lengths/difficulty wind throughout the area, the fish hatchery... More

We have been going down to roaring river for the past three years on Father's Day. This year my husband decided to reserve the cabin duplexes, he reserved the same one that we stayed in the year before. However, when we got there they gave us a key to the cabins near the hatchery number 6. We walked up towards... More

We dined in the restaurant in the Emery Melton Inn. The food was very tasty and the prices were moderate. After lunch we explored the fish hatchery area and hiked to the observation deck above. This was our first time visiting the park and we had an enjoyable time. We will be back the next time we visit friends in... More

My family comes to Cassville multiple times a year for camping and fishing. I don't fish myself, but we always walk the grounds of the hatchery. It's a beautiful area with fun, relaxing hikes. It really has a wonderful family atmosphere. Tip: bring a few quarters and a cup for the fish food. The kids love watching the fish go... More
