We stayed just one night and it was a great time. It is truly stepping back in time. We are trying to get a bigger group together to go back in the next few weeks. The staff was professional/courteous and helpful with nearby sites and local history. Even pointed us to a great restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

A very authentic experience. The small (cottages) we're share croppers houses They have preserved history by buying these up or having them donated. They have indoor plumbing and air conditioning . The sheets are clean. This is not the ritz, but sure gives you the experience of what life was like not that long ago. A very emotional experience .

We stayed in the Palo Alto shack for five nights, and it was wonderful! Last year we stayed at the Shack Up Inn which, while fantastic, didn't offer nearly as much as Tallahatchie did. Having a full kitchen, complete with dishes and cooking pans was a huge help--our friends were in a neighboring shack, and together we were able to... More

We planned a visit here to experience "something else," and did we ever! The property is situated just outside of Greenwood MS, and it gives you the opportunity to get a very small taste of life in the Mississippi Delta. It served as a great base from which to explore the area. It would not be ideal for someone who... More

We were in town for the night and decided to try Tallahatchie Flats instead of a traditional hotel. It was hot outside and yes the accommodations were different than at home, but that's what we came for. The utensils didn't match, I cooked veggies in a bread loaf pan, and we drank our wine out of mismatched coffee cups....but that... More

Don't come to Tallahatchie Flats for the luxury or amenities. It's not the Ritz when it comes to housekeeping. But my one night stay at the Flats was a great experience that left me wanting for more. Hanging on the front porch, listening to the whistle of a distant train or the dawn chorus of the birds was a special... More

I decided to try it w my dtr 5 yrs old. We had just finished reading the Little House on the Prairie books and it was liked visiting Laura's home:) rustic, quirky, fun and very comfortable. Wonderful visit:) Tabatha was so sweet- just left the key for us on the door:)

Tallahatchie Flats is essentially vintage low-income housing, so I don't understand some the negative reviews here. An awesome historical preservation project, it is, and I was so pumped as soon as I walked into our shack, Ashland House. My boyfriend, sister and I stayed one very cold February night here during our weekend trip through the Delta. The owners/bookkeeper put... More

We stayed here for one night during on our road trip. There isn't much to do besides relax but do not expect "comfort" to be a top priority. These are shacks and they're sold as such. The pictures on the website are accurate. We stayed in Tush Hog's and it was creepy and old BUT that is what why we... More

We discovered the Flats a couple of years ago when looking for Robert Johnson's grave one New Years weekend. We put coming back there on our bucket list. It's a group of share cropper houses that were moved from area farms and used in the movie The Help. They are on the bank of the Tallahatchie River. (Of Billie Joe... More
