Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever stayed. First room we were put in, filthy, hadn’t been cleaned from previous guest. Second try, thermostat literally fell out of the wall and had no working lights. Third try, no towels or blankets in the room and no lock on the door. Upon asking the front desk to ring towels, the employee says, “Well guests have to come down and get them if you want them.” Working on getting a full refund because this is honestly so terrible.

My parents and I stayed at the Econo Lodge in Greenville MS on the night of November 21st 2022 while on a road trip. The room was charged to my (French citizen) father's credit card and the operation appeared successful. The next day, the woman from the front desk called us after we had checked out to say the operation had failed and she asked us to provide the card number again. I refused at first for fear of a second charge but she promised there would be only one so we gave her the numbers again. Back to France a couple weeks later, my father discovered the room had been charged twice, once on the first night and the second time the next day as we had feared. He immediately sent them a letter requesting a refund that was ignored. He then asked for my help. I called the hotel in January 9, January 10, January 11, January 13, January 24, January 25 and again in Feb 16. Each time I am told they can confirm the 2 charges and will refund us or get back to me within the day. I never hear back and we have not been refunded. Other than refusing to refund a double charge that is entirely their mistake, the hotel was less than clean, the towels stained, the coffee machine not working... All in all - do not stay there

About 7 or 8 cross country trips and this was probably one of the worst Choice properties. The best part was the new flooring. Thankfully no carpet. The manager was fairly new and is probably doing the best she can with what it is. She was apologetic about the towels and gave us replacements. Bedding was nice. Obviously the bed skirt and cover were pulled out of a dryer and put on wrinkled. But clean. Bathroom grab bar- broken off No breakfast Towels need replacing, thread bare and one looked like cleaning rag Smoke alarm was covered with plastic probably from a prior guest, Hope the manager can get a handle on this property and bring up the quality.

Just wanted you to know that this facility is the most poorly run Choice Hotels property we have ever stayed in. We pulled up at 3:04 to witness two employee women outside the office smoking. We went in and were told we might have a bit of a wait because the rooms weren't yet cleaned from the night before. Finally at 4:20 we were allowed to get in out room. It was dingy and had several light bulbs that didn't work. The grab bar in the tub area was not attached to the wall at the bottom so there was no stability when showering and the safety strips at the bottom of the tub were worn out making showering dangerous. There was no clock.

The name Econo Lodge sets our expectations low, but this property never got close to that height. The room was clean and quiet, that was the only good part. The wifi was the worst we have suffered in years, barely fast enough for email. Forget about streaming anything. They have given up on offering breakfast, probably just as well. The room had a cheap toilet, which clogged. When we went to the desk to ask for a plunger, we were told that another guest had already taken the only one. The place was not busy, so it desperately needs more plungers, since good toilets are probably out of reach. Also missed a hot shower, since the water was just warm. We got through the night OK, but there is nothing here to recommend.

Talk about Motel Hell. The first bad news was the desk guy couldn't even give us a key card. Apparently none of the doors have working locks. Said he'd have to let us in with his pass key when we returned from dinner. Half the lamps didn't work. Electric outlets hanging out of the walls. Switch plates broken. Supposed to be non- smoking but sure wasn't. The place is a fire trap and wouldn't pass any building codes anywhere. A breakfast was advertised which we didn't dare investigate the next morning. A very nasty place that should be closed. Really I wouldn't advise staying anywhere on that stretch of hiway 82.

How do I say this, Oh yeah...This place is terrible! An absolute dump. We booked about 45 days in advance to stay on our way to a final destination. We were supposed to have a non-smoking room. The room smelled with smoke, had cigarette burns on all sheets, walls, and lamps. The walls had grime smears, the toilet seat was broken off, more than half the lamps had no bulbs, the coffee maker was broken, and the list just keeps growing. We complained to the front desk to no avail. We were told they were booked up and no rooms available. Seemed strange since the parking lot was empty the whole night. And the nonsmoking rooms beside up were empty, but was told they were closed. We asked for the manager, of course n/a, and so on. The outside area smelled like someone threw up, and no one bothered with cleaning it up. Then theres no breakfast or pool due to covid. Considering everything else, its just as well not.. Do not book this place!!

The check-in lady was friendly and helpful. Paid for room and we dropped off luggage. Got ready to shower and there was only 1 towel. No face towels, wash clothes or floor towel to stand on. I went to front desk and was told the guests have been taking them and there are no more, but the manager did order more. That does me no good for my showering shortage at the moment.I told front desk I'll take large towels or what ever they may have to complete the task ahead. JUST unbelievable management is so dense to think this is an acceptable practice. Anyway the lady at desk did find me some large towels to finish the job. Awkward but at least we could sleep without the days dirt on our bodies. Don't bother with the morning breakfast. A complete case of laziness from preparation to table cleaning. McDonalds is 2 or 3 buildings down to satisfy getting fed and gone. Bed was comfortable and shower had good pressure and AC worked good. The whole town has BROWN water so if you can make it to the next town, might experience a better stay.

Well priced, well located motel. Room comfortable and clean. Wifi very good. Only complaint is handicap accessible rooms are on one side of motel, and ice machines on other, far side. VERY inconvenient for decrepit old folks like us!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I booked this hotel for a graduation. I called and canceled when a room at a more comfortable hotel became available. (By "more comfortable" I mean not a roach motel as the reviews clearly indicate). I called 6 times! I spoke with Kim who assured me she would call back, but didn't. Six times. And then who (on the 6th call) refused to give me her name because she "had given it to me plenty of times". I was also informed that the manager does not keep regular hours, comes and goes unpredictably and may or may not call me back. (I was told on many of the six calls that he was there from 7 to 3. Another mistake on their part.) I called the corporate office. They were polite and apologetic, but I was not refunded because I couldn't prove that I cancelled. Given the incompetent nature of their handling of this situation and their lack of follow-up, I am not surprised that they failed to record my cancellation. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Response from Naaz B, GM in Support Role at Econo Lodge Greenville
Responded May 14, 2019
We are so sorry you had a bad experience at this hotel. We do not believe you actually stayed with us as we do not have anyone on staff named Kim and our manager works from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., not unpredictable hours as you note. We hope you come stay with us at EconoLodge in Greenville, Mississippi, and see how great of an experience you can have at a Choice property!
