We found this place to be the perfect location for experiencing Clarksdale and the blues. Amazing location, brilliant shacks, super friendly hosts, great music, lovely food and tasty beer. What's not to like!

The Shack Up Inn is by miles the coolest hotel I've ever stayed in. Whether recognized as such or not, it is an American icon. I asked Guy, one of the owners, how they decided what to put on the walls in the Juke Joint Chapel, and he said, "It's just stuff nobody else wanted." There is nothing normal about... More

Glad I finally got to experience the Shack Up Inn. As they say "It's not the Ritz" but it was clean and functional, and oh so quirky. Agree with other comments on the restaurant (independently run from hotel) good food, service needs some work.

Shack-Up is a fabulous place to stay....reasonably priced, great staff, fabulous ambience. If you are travelling the Blues Trail, like us, there's no sane reason to stay ANYWHERE else. There was a guitar camp going on during in our stay and we got to enjoy some wonderful blues at RUST.....the attached blues club.

This place was great, not just because it was comfortable, safe and a good value. There was a guitar camp going on while we were there and with a jam session in the evening. Everyone including staff were having a good time. We stayed in Bin 5, hung out on the screened in porch and enjoyed delicious Whiskey with Delta... More

Well here goes. I've thought long and hard about what I was gonna say here. First. The shacks were fantastic, clean, cool, absolutely the best part of the trip! The girls at the check in desk we're happy smiling and glad to see us! Next. The restaurant called Rust. Fantastic food, hot fresh! Delicious. And here we go. The employees... More

Am I glad I found the Shack Up on a recent passage through the delta country. Apart from its blues museum and certain clubs Clarksdale is the armpit of the Delta in fact most of the town seems derelict not a place to linger. Luckily the Shack Up at a safe distance from the town offers superb quirky accommodation and... More

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at the sunflower shack. There was a guitar available for my husband to play as he didn't bring one on the plane! Very nice touch. We spent a better part of the afternoon on the porch, rocking in the chairs and playing the blues. Couldn't have asked for a better time. The music... More

If you are looking for the four seasons, this is not it. What it is, is an opportunity to get a glimpse of what life for sharecroppers in the delta might have been like. But with the added luxuries of electricity, indoor bathrooms and air conditioning. We had 2 rooms in the cotton gins. Upstairs room have balconies where you... More

The "Shack up Inn" is a little taste of the Mississippi Delta and Blues history all put together. This is an absolutely amazing place to relax and enjoy all that Southern hospitality. The arrangement of nostalgia and that down home feeling has been put together brilliantly. The staff are excellent and will accommodate you in any way they can. This... More
