I have traveled the world and find it refreshing to find a lodging that has a theme that works. This is not elegant (thankfully) but it is memorable. The rooms have the charm of a family lake house but there is visual entertainment everywhere on the old cotton gin compound. Access to Clarksdale is a huge asset. The other guests... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way between Memphis and New Orleans, on a Saturday and Sunday night. We arrived in a huge rainstorm, and were greeted by a friendly check0in, We had a few beers in the bar (which is really cool), and chatted to some ladies from Memphis who were on a Tamale trail, who shared... As many have wrote before me this place is like no other, we will surely return for another visit/stay. The staff was friendly and very informative, rooms are unique but are some of the cleanest I have experienced. The restaurant, Rust, is also located here and it is the best place to eat in town. We found out that they... More

I first stayed here in 2003 and had so much fun I was back later that same summer. Have now stayed several times each year, usually on my way to New Orleans. There is no other vacation spot quite like it and I highly recommend. I'll be back each year for quite some time, I'm quite sure. Much more fun... More

and it will look like a scene out of the walking dead at first until then you notice how pretty the place is during daylight! We loved the grounds and our room! Besides harmonica workshops I think people that are into photography will find there is just as much to discover! The bar area though could be just a little... More

My husband and I were on the Mississippi Blues Trail and choose a room in the bin since the shacks were all sold out. We will choose biscuit or gravy on our next visit and there will be another. We loved the room and the attitude at the "compound". They are adding on across the road and I am sure... More

We stayed for 2 nights in early May and loved it. As soon as we left we were talking about when we could make a return visit. We stayed in one of the “bin” rooms which are in the main large building instead of one of the free standing “shacks”. The bin room was large with a tall ceiling. The... More

Without a doubt, one of the best getaways! Just about two hours from Little Rock, The Shack Up Inn is just plain CHARMING. We stayed in the Legends Shack last Sunday through Tuesday and it was exactly what I thought it would be. Since this was our first time staying there, we loved the location of our shack and that... The Shack Up Inn is such a unique and well-run inn. While the accommodations are definitely rustic, everything was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the cabins have everything you could possibly need. It's exactly the place that you should stay if you're in the Delta on a bluse pilgrimage. The front desk even left us a map with... More

This was our third stay at the Shack Up Inn, and I enjoyed it so much. The staff is wonderful-very friendly and helpful. The grounds are really looking great, and our room was comfortable and COOL. I highly recommend the Shack Up Inn-it is a "must" for anyone who wants the whole Delta experience. Of-and you gotta try the donuts... More
