Now this isn't the Four Seasons - anyone expecting it will be sadly deluded. But for a glimpse into the world of the old Mississippi plantation sharecroppers, there is probably nothing to touch it. Our shack (Tinth) was basic but comfortable. Hot showers and warm. Listening to the cold January rain attack the tin roof and skipping through the Mississippi... More

We traveled from Memphis to New Orleans taking in Blues origins landmarks and music. We stayed at both the Tallahatchie Flats and Shack up In. Tallahatchie Flats was a bit more authentic; we could tell that some things here had been reconstructed (but who cares). This place was much bigger, and seemed to have more to offer and a more... If your travelling down the blues highway from Memphis to New Orleans ( Hwy 61) The Shack Up Inn in Clarksdale is where you want to stay. Rustic old shacks that don't look like much from the outside but inside, they are cozy, full of charm and have all the modern amenities a girl, (or boy) could need. Staff are... More

This was our second visit to the shack and it was as relaxing as the first. Our shack was very cozy and clean. Had a great time in spite of car trouble and rain. All of the the staff are friendly and helpful. Had a fantastic meal at "Rust" and a fine patience from a young lady from Memphis playing... More

Not fancy, BUT not to be missed-the rooms are cleans and comfortable, cell service is iffy-the restaurant there, Rust has a small BUT creative menu and live music-good place to end a day soaking up the Delta Blues-

Basic, no luxuries. This place is all about atmosphere and quirkiness. One of the highlights of driving along the Great River Road was arriving at this place at sunset and having a beer on the porch of the Chicken Coop, still not quite believing the place is for real. Even if Clarksdale at the time was not at all the buzzing blues... More

If we are ever in the area again this is the only place we would stay. Just off beat enough to be fun . Room was clean and comfortable. Lobby, gift shop, and bar were excellent. Staff was very helpful with information about Clarksdale, the Blues Museum is truly a MUST SEE!!!!

Shack Up Inn is a southern style B&B with historical roots in the cotton industry, blues music, and southern culture. The retired cotton plantation boasts comfy "shotgun shacks" that are super fun to stay in. They also have an amazing staff, food, and music. The area itself is rich in blues heritage. If you ever have the desire to see... More

We stayed in the Clairemont in May 2014 and still smile every time I remember our stay. Definitely a fun place to stay with antique furnishings and comfortable beds, very friendly staff! We drove into town for dinner at Ground Zero, which had great food and live band.
