Traveling for 2 weeks from Chicago towards Louisiana, and this has been our favorite spot. Shack is clean and tidy, bed was comfortable, and sitting on the porch drinking wine is a once in a lifetime experience. A short drive into town for amazing music. Don't miss this spot.

Shack up inn is a great concept and good for Clarkesdale. I struggle with this review. Let me start by saying, we had fun, it was a special experience. However there is a point where the theme is OTT (over the top) and possibly an excuse for going to the lowest possible standards. We after aĺl, still paying customers. Let... More

The shack is the best place to stay in Clarksdale ! We stayed in a shack two years ago and had a blast. This year we stayed in a bin. Very neat and clean ! They have food now which they didn't have the last time we stayed. The food and service is very good !!!

Took my friend on a birthday trip to Clarkesdale to hear music at Ground Zero Blues Club. So glad I chose the Shack Up Inn--not only because it is charming in its own rustic way but because of the staff. They made us feel so welcome coming and going.

If you are planning to stay in the area you must stay here; it is an unforgettable experience. It is a former cotton plantation whose buildings have been converted into rustic lodgings. We stayed in one of the former sharecropping shacks. Furnished with reclaimed furniture and southern curios, it is basic but comfortable and clean. All shacks had screened off... More

It looks rusty and beat up from the outside but our 'bin' was spacious and comfortable with a great bed and all the facilities you'd expect in a modern midrange hotel. And it has soul, and a short easy drive into town past The Crossroads where we stopped at Abe's - great, great food.

If you want to try something different, the Shack Up Inn may be your cup of tea. A fellow guest likened it to summer camp and that's an apt comparison. Our shack, 482 had a porch which looked out onto a central area. You actually mingle with other guests either in the bar area (good beer) or at breakfast over... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on our second trip to Mississippi to visit the markers on the Blues Trail. We stayed in the Red House and thoroughly enjoyed it.However we value the eccentric and eclectic over standard amenities so we saw the tin shower as an adventure rather than a detriment.Everything we needed was there, coffee in the morning, microwave,etc... Spent 5 days at the Shack Up Inn outside Clarksdale MS and enjoyed every minute! We stayed in the Cotton Bins; much larger and more comfortable than a hotel room. Can't wait to return to sit on the newly screened porches off of the bins or we may try the new units built from grain silos. The onsite restaurant has... More
