This is a fantastic spot to just sit and contemplate the view, the world if you like. Also must be good for more serious outdoor types who like hiking, fishing etc. BUT advertising three different restaurants is a bit over the top. One is simply underneath the other, the third 20 metres away and all seem to be served by... More

We were two couples traveling together, shared a 2 Bedroom/2 Bath unit. It exceeded our expectations - roomy accommodations, fantastic view, warm hospitality from the managers Pip and Nick and even an adorable dog who likes to go on hikes with guests! Stylish and serene, it is the perfect place to explore the outdoors, take a swim or just sit... More

We loved the Bay of Many Coves - it's location, which is only accessible by boat or on foot, is amazing. The rooms are great and very spacious and we slept really well - always a massive bonus! The managers were really friendly, and very generous with some unexpected 'on the house' gestures, and all in all it was a... More

We thank you for your comments and feedback regarding the experience you recently had at the Bay of Many Coves. Indeed a quiet place for a good sleep without any roads. We are accessible only by boat or walk-in access (along with floatplane or helicopter if coming by air). We are glad the overall experience was of value to you,... More

We did the the three night fishing package, very relaxing units with wonderful views although they do have little kitchenettes which we didn't realise, so would have taken some wine and cheese as we had just been to Marlborough as there wine is very expensive ( lunch not included) Could not fault the resturant Fordeck it was perfect the chef... Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at the Bay of Many Coves, on our 3 night fishing Package. Our Kitchen team are grateful that you enjoyed their offerings and especially the fresh fish you caught and they created into a meal for you. Also that Richelle's treatments in the Miritu Day Spa were so enjoyable. We are sorry that... More

We opted to spend Christmas at the Bay of Many Coves during our trip to NZ and are very glad we did. Each of the small number of chalets perched on the hillside are luxurious with everything you could need as well as being pristine. We spent a lot of the time relaxing at the pool and watching DVDs (it... More

On behalf of the entire team at the Bay,(all 18 of us!) we are grateful for such a positive review of your recent stay. The passionate Chefs are thrilled that you enjoyed the Degustation dinner on the 25th of December, and the Owners are very glad that you found all the comforts in your apartment (one of just eleven on... Our family of 5 ages 13 to 47 spent our Christmas eve and day here. The staff led by Pip were excellent and attentive, yet in a very friendly and casual manner. I agree with other reviewers that this can be a tricky thing to pull off but they do it seemingly effortlessly. The rooms consist of individual buildings perched... More

Thank you for the lovely comments regarding your stay at the Bay over the Festive Season. We are glad that the family enjoyed the time, the rewarding challenge to the 'look-out' point and the floatplane arrival. For an active family of various ages, there are many activities to take on (fishing charters, cruising, eco-tours, bird watching, myths and legends tour,... More

It started with a waterplane flight over the picturesque marlboro sound which is highly recommended. Reception at the hotel. the room and the food was outstanding. The management did also an excellent job to separate the normal guests from a rather noisy Chinese group. The half day cruise onboard classic launch is great.

Thank you for the review of your stay almost a year ago at the Bay of Many Coves. We are glad you have happy memories of your time with us and that you enjoyed the cruise on the 'Lady Karen' - it really is a highlight of many-a-guest stay. We are sorry you were here with a group - it... More

As part of our road trip and honeymoon in New Zealand we booked to stay here for two nights to thoroughly unwind ahead of some travelling on the south island. Left Picton, and were intrigued as to where we were heading. As we arrived to our own private pontoon the resort revealed itself dug into the hillside with breathtaking ease.... More

Private bag 382 - and the mail boat comes but twice a week for those still using the postal service! All the mid-cons of email and communication yet a superb spot for 'getting away from it all' at the same time. The pure and natural environment is, as you mention, a theme continued through into the apartments themselves and allow... More

Great place with excellent food and wonderful accomodations. Energetic staff willing to help. We opted for Kayaking which was well worth while. This is an out of the way location but well worth the 20 minute water taxi ride to get there

Thank you for providing comments regarding your recent stay at the Bay; Indeed, being a little off the beaten track the end result of getting here is rewarding! Only 20-30 scenic minutes through the Queen Charlotte Sound by watertaxi (or a short helicopter/floatplane ride, or a sail or launch cruise), all options prove to be part of the experience from... I was lucky enough to spend two wonderful nights at the fabulous Bay of Many Coves in July 2014.
