This island is surrounded by clear waters known as 'Dharavandhoo Thila' & Hanifaru Bay, which are famous amongst divers around the world, for it is a sanctuary for a number of marine life, including mantas, whale sharks and turtles. This globally renowned eco-life zone is now strictly protected by law. Distance from Male International airport 116.30 km.
I've chosen this island, Dharavandhoo, because of Hanifaru Bay. This guest houses provided me with the cheapest rate for this excursion. Plus i've got a very tasty food and big rooms. The owner, Adma, helped me with all my requests. Way back I made with domestic plane. Fantastic views were opened to my eyes. Highly recommend!

We spent 10 nights in Nov/Dec 2015 in this guesthouse . It was a pleasant experience and we felt us like at home . Adam and Elyas did everything from the first moment to please us . I am sure you`ll get the most bang for the buck staying in this place . The room is simple but with A/C and free WIFI ....I dont need more as I try to be outside as much as possible . The beach is just a few steps away and the housereef is interesting enough for snorkeling . You can book additional excursions, the host will take care of everything . Sandbank and resort visit diving or fishing you name it ! :-)) From June to November there is a good chance to swim with mantas in the near Hanifaru bay natural reservate . The agency running the guesthouse takes care about your transport and pick you up at the airport so you should contact them after the booking . The food was simple and good! They are flexible so don`t be shy to express your wishes . We decided to eat "Maldivian breakfast " which was very delicious ...also wanted to eat fish so they prepared us always something fresh . We were travelling with a 1 year old baby and even that was not a problem !!! The maldivians love kids and our son felt himself great there !!! We want to go back again !…

We did the package deal that included fishing, boat to resort (not including resort entry fee of $31), Hanifaru bay, meals, and flights which was a very good value. The room was very clean. TV with a couple movie channels - was fun to watch movies some evenings since sunset is at 6:00.

We stayed at Dharavandhoo stay last August 2015. It was a great experience of local life and hospitality. Mr Adam is very accommodating with our requests and Sadam his assistant cooks nice Maldivian breakfast. The island is very calm and quiet too. The public beach is seems like private as we stayed there almost everyday and have it all to ourselves. I may not see the Manta Rays in the ocean.. but i saw some by the beach! We also had a chance to cook for Mr Adam our Filipino Dish - Adobo and cooked some crabs with coconut milk (that we caught the night before). We recommend this place to everyone who asked where we stayed in Maldives. Thank you Mr Adam and Sadam.

Dharavandhoo is located in baa atoll and it's very close to hanifarubay, a biosphere known for Mantarays and whalesharks (among other rare marine species). The guest house is clean and the price is really reasonable. Adam, the owner and manager, is very attentive and would do everything to make his guests feel comfortable and make the best of their stay. He helped us plan our honey moon and arranged for all the excursion and transfer from/to malé ensuring that we all get the cheapest prices (we have asked and compared prices offered by other guest houses). Thank you Adam.

Booked the 4 night accommodation + snorkelling trip + fishing trip + 5 Star resort day visit package and it didn't disappoint. While only a 20 minute domestic flight from Male, once you step off the plane, you're on a little island where there is still a sense of laid back local life. Snorkelling: Swam around in the most breathtaking coral garden teeming with life with a local guide in crystal clear waters, where sea turtles would casually glide past. Fishing: Apparently it was a tad tricky day to fish but even then we caught enough for a barbeque dinner and more. 5-Star resort visit: It was good to get some cocktails but you realise how hermetic the resort environment is. Sad to see the fragile coral of the house reef be trampled by uncaring guests. If you don't venture out, you may not know what healthy Maldivian coral looks like and how to responsibly enjoy the experience. The rooms itself are comfortable and adequate. The island has a bikini beach at one end of the island where there are big trees, making it surprisingly cool. Breakfast was usually toast, sausages, egg and condiments (if you're feeling adventurous, request a Maldivian breakfast. It's a coconut tuna salad with chappati bread - addictive!) Dinner was different every day but always included a fish dish - the local specialty. Adam, the host was always happpy to tell us more about Maldives and worked wonders for us - we requested Moringa (Muranga) one day and he managed to serve it up for dinner. If you are someone who needs luxury, just wants to be whisked to a resort, thinks that beaches should be cleared every day of debris for you and only want sand and water, this may not be the place for you. If you can do without the bells and whistles, want to see the local perspective, enjoy a nice beach and visit the same snorkel points as the 5-star resorts for a fraction of a price, go to Dharavandhoo Stay.…

I would highly recommend Dharavandhoo Stay to anyone, young and old. We went there with my mother-in-law, husband, and our young twins (3 years old). Dharavandhoo stay helped us every possible way. They helped us plan our menu, our day and our side trips. It was a true vacation with their help.

Dharandhoo stay is a perfect place to spend a holiday. Me & my husband stayed in dharandhoo island for 5 days. Prices are reasonable, peaceful environment, friendly community and many more. Airport pickup service to the hotel and food was amazing. I love the local foods. Especially the welcome drink was "kurumba" and I love "Garudhiya and rice" and I won't forget the hot hot hot chillie, "Githeyo mirus". Me and my husband had a good experience of the local context and thank you so much for the management for your kind hospitality and I hope I will return again for a vacation. Shine (china)
