Site was nice, great view of river. Very quiet the weekend I stayed there. Playground for the kids. Bathroom facilities leave a little to be desired but you are camping!!! Had a nice fire and friendly neighbors, staff was polite too.

Just got back from having our daughters wedding at the campground. Folks this is a well run clean operation. We're from out of state and didn't really know what to expect. What we got was clean campsites, hookups that worked and evidently a staff that takes pride in their campground. Yes since it was a wedding things got alittle loud... More

River campground to me sums it up. I personally never been found of river campgrounds. They flood too much and it's not worth making it great for fear next spring it will all be underwater. However, we come here because of needing to be in Winona for a weekend and prefer to stay in our trailer rather than a hotel.... More

We have stayed at numerous rv resorts and campgrounds and I have never seen something like this!! The campground is right on the river which is nice but the water situation is awful they have 4-6 campers running off of 1 water hydrant. There are hoses laying everywhere with splinters for each camper. We opted to fill our fresh water... More

We have camped at Prairie Island now for the last 3 year. We find it friendly, both seasonal and daily users, quiet (sure at times people will party hardy but isn't that what camping is about enjoying life) most of the time, extremely friendly staff and affordable. This is not a deluxe campground, but it offers everything that is needed... More

This is in response to WisconsinRanger . We are permanent campers at Prairie Island since 2005. Yes we have a garden hose hooked up to the pump, yes the water pressure does get low at times. We don't mind, after all we are "camping". I agree some of the sites are not well designed especially for the "bigger rigs" and... More

My wife and I were passing through on a cross country trip and had stopped to see some friends in town for a few days and found this campground on their recommendation. Upon arriving, we entered the hut that serves as the office and were surprised to find a small convenience store with various camping odds and ends including breakfast... More

Pulled in, looked and then promptly left. This city run campground has seen its better days. It is obvious funds are lacking. The non-water/electric tenting sites have mature shade trees with plenty of grass, if you can determine which site is which. They are not clearly designated. Do not drive your large RV into this area due to the low... More

Just spent a very long, relaxing weekend @ PIC and loved it! Friendly campers and clean, well kept sites. We tent, but still stay in the electric sites that most trailers and motor homes stay at. We had an amazing view of the river because we booked a site near the water. There was plenty of space to spread out,... More
