The Anderson House is over 110 years old. So if you require the luxury of a full service hotel this is not for you! Thers Is no elevator and staIrs are narrow and a bIt steep. But If you crave a back to the old world thIs Is for you. The breakfast that comes with you stay is very good.... More

Actually, we stumbled on to this place by accident, touring the fall colors of Wisconsin's west coast along the Mississippi, not finding a place to stay there after dark. Crossed the river to Wabasha headed to AmericInn, it was full, but the person at the desk called Anderson House and sent us there. The owner greeted me, told me about... More

I stayed here for two nights for a girls weekend getaway. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful when we arrived, and she described all of the local attractions to us. The building, which was built in 1856, had lots of great Victorian charm and ambiance. We also enjoyed the included continental breakfast, which featured fresh fruit, cereal,... More

The lock on the door didn't work (couldn't lock the door at all). The carpet was extremely stained, old, nasty looking-bring your slippers! The chair in the room was also very stained. They claim a free breakfast, starting at 8 am, however, that time period is apparently flexible (didn't get to have breakfast once while there). Hallway sounds are loud... More

My 3 sisters and I stayed 2 nights at the Anderson House in June of 2012. What a great place! Every room in the hotel is unique, in accommodations and size, and are quite comfortable. We had 2 rooms with a shared bath. There is a common room on the 2nd floor that we could go to for tea/coffee and... More

We stayed in the Anderson House to celebrate our anniversary--in a room "with cat." Sadly, the Anderson house has evidently closed its doors (per a Minneapolis Star-Tribune article in March of 2009). The article also states that all the cats were adopted by staff and former customers, so don't worry about them. (As cat lovers, this place was a delight.)... More

My stay here actually goes back to Spring 2005. Sorry John Hall, times change, and not accepting Credit Cards until you sold it was not acceptable. Yet, you accepted Check, which these days is more then just plan risky. Does it cost, to accept Credit Cards, Absolutely, so be it. even your fast food has no problem. As fair as... More

We stayed here last weekend. Never again. Poor service, treated rudely by staff (front desk -and- waitstaff). Uncomfortable beds. Paper-thin walls means you can hear every other room's activity. Tiniest bathroom ever. Wallpaper is falling off, probably from decades of water damage. Avoid if you have mold allergies.

We did not stay at the hotel but brought a large group from our church for lunch while on a day outing. These were senior citizens. The day of the outing 3 members were ill and did not come but had already paid. After a lovely lunch, I asked that the 3 dinners that we paid for be boxed so... More

The Anderson House is such a treat...do yourself a favor and take a detour and stay here. The hotel is charming with wonderful period furnishings including important things like cloth dolls and photos. The bathrooms in the lower-priced rooms aren't going to be big marble spreads so if that's important to you, book up. And if you aren't allergic to... More
