After driving 18 hrs from Georgia I get ready to take a shower there's a ring around the tub and 3 hairs in the tub I called down to front desk and advised the clerk that the tub is dirty the clerks response is Okay like that's normal for the tub to be dirty so I said do you expect... More

Front desk area was nice, clerk was nice, thought the room would be too. Disgusting. Carpet was FILTHY, no padding under it, walls were FILTHY, carpet in halllway - FILTHY, bed was rollaway bedframe with no headboard, lame mattress, felt like a flophouse. I would not let my dog stay there, we unfortunately, were stuck with the reservation. NEVER again,... More

Front desk clerk was unpleasant. Our room could have used a complete renovation especially the carpet. The parking lot had tailgating that was off putting (scarry). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

You stay at the Coates all depends on luck. I have stayed at the Coates three times. My stays have consistently gone downhill but with a grudgingly acceptance that the could-be charming place is overpriced and underwhelming for its prices and location. Your stay depends on luck. Luck with the cleanliness of your room. Luck if your room has a... More

I've lived in the area my whole life and stayed there for business. I arrived very late at night on a weekday and was greeted reluctantly by the front desk staff. The room was not clean, to put it gently, and in definite need of updating. I requested more pillows from the front desk, which seem to annoy the staff... More

Awoke from a much-needed nights' sleep, turned on the bathroom light and was greeted by a HUGE cockroach scurrying around. Had to grab a shoe and he did not go down without a fight -- definitely not the wake-up call I wanted or expected! I mentioned to the front desk (put the dead guy in a ziplock bag and gave... More

Our cameras dont cover those rooms. How easy for clients! Ahem! We asked for another rm with a KEY CARD- she says ih thats an upgrade... More

I stayed at The Coates for an event. The staff was very accomodating and friendly. There appear to be two sides of the hotel, an older one and a new one. They are currently in the process of updating the hotel in sections. However, considering the price, I had very few things to complain about. Yes, having a room near... More

The hotel is an older one but a very charming, and welcoming place to stay. The front desk staff was helpful, and nice. The room was basic, but clean. There was a lot of things to do, and places to eat right within walking distance from the hotel. No continental breakfast, but they do have coffee, and doughnuts in the... More

With very limited options I booked a reservation at the Coates. This building had the potential to be charming but falls flat, in need of serious updates. The whole hotel smells of chlorine, and when we opened the door to the room, the smell of cigarettes hits you in the face. The walls were scuffed, and made the room dirty... More
