We stayed here last weekend and had a great time. The hotel is older, but has cool charm. It is not a high end hotel, but nice for the cost. The rooms are bigger than normal and the beds are super comfy. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They have a good sized pool and hot tub that is very... More

This was the only hotel available for 30 miles when I stayed. They told us they have renovated rooms at a higher cost. The rooms were huge but very old and in serious need of renovation. The bed was terrible hallway smelled like an indoor pool (heavy chlorine/bleach smell) and was shabby. Lobby was ok bar was ok, but at... More

This is an older hotel that has charm but it's potential isn't being fulfilled. Some of the rooms have been remodeled and others have not. You do not want to stay in a room that has not been remodled. They originally put us in one of those rooms and it is one of the worst rooms I have ever seen.... More

After driving 18 hrs from Georgia I get ready to take a shower there's a ring around the tub and 3 hairs in the tub I called down to front desk and advised the clerk that the tub is dirty the clerks response is Okay like that's normal for the tub to be dirty so I said do you expect... More

Front desk area was nice, clerk was nice, thought the room would be too. Disgusting. Carpet was FILTHY, no padding under it, walls were FILTHY, carpet in halllway - FILTHY, bed was rollaway bedframe with no headboard, lame mattress, felt like a flophouse. I would not let my dog stay there, we unfortunately, were stuck with the reservation. NEVER again,... More

Front desk clerk was unpleasant. Our room could have used a complete renovation especially the carpet. The parking lot had tailgating that was off putting (scarry). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

You stay at the Coates all depends on luck. I have stayed at the Coates three times. My stays have consistently gone downhill but with a grudgingly acceptance that the could-be charming place is overpriced and underwhelming for its prices and location. Your stay depends on luck. Luck with the cleanliness of your room. Luck if your room has a... More

I've lived in the area my whole life and stayed there for business. I arrived very late at night on a weekday and was greeted reluctantly by the front desk staff. The room was not clean, to put it gently, and in definite need of updating. I requested more pillows from the front desk, which seem to annoy the staff... More

Awoke from a much-needed nights' sleep, turned on the bathroom light and was greeted by a HUGE cockroach scurrying around. Had to grab a shoe and he did not go down without a fight -- definitely not the wake-up call I wanted or expected! I mentioned to the front desk (put the dead guy in a ziplock bag and gave... More
