We had a lovely stay at this charming historic lighthouse in October 2014. The room was comfy and clean. The place was very quiet for the most part, though it overlooks the harbor and at one point one of the large ships was loading some taconite and it was noisy for a bit. Great view of the lake. The breakfasts... More

This B&B is a must stop location for anyone visiting the North Shore. Nice rooms with great views, and loads of history. A working ore dock is just across the harbor. The breakfast was amazing, home cooked by Rose, who is friendly and has a lot of useful local knowledge. The location also can't be beat, with so many great... More

This was our second stay at the Lighthouse, and once again, we thought it was great. Stayed in the Harbor Room this time. Like the other two rooms in the main house, it was very basic, but clean and comfortable. The main attraction here is staying in an actual (and still functioning) lighthouse, which is incredibly interesting. Rose is the... More

My second stay here, and it was just as good as the last time. Stayed in the Skiff House this time, and appreciated the cozy feel and the private bath. Quiet, peaceful, fabulous breakfast. What's not to like? Just the weather, which was cold and windy. Can't help that though.

I looked forward to our stay at this lighthouse, working our way south from the North Shore. We were happy that we could check in extra early and get settled, so we could enjoy the surrounding area. It was a beautiful September day, so we took a pretty nature walk nearby. There were lots of yellow wildflowers blooming, and it... More

We rented all 4 rooms, and loved each! We were met by Rose, who was a great cook, informative and welcoming. The pie and lemonade were a much appreciated when we arrived after our long trip there. Bear in mind, there is an active dock nearby, so there will be some noise throughout the night. The light rotates on the... More

My girlfriend and I were so fortunate to get a room at the Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast. It had an incredible personal touch, and amazing grounds. We spent two very comfortable nights there, and enjoyed two delicious breakfasts. Rose, our caretaker, even made catered to my girlfriends need for a gluten free food and it was delicious. The house itself... More

We actually loved our one-night stay last week in the Forrest Room, as the room was plenty big enough for the 2 of us, and the bed was incredibly comfy, and the hostess (Rose) was so nice--and a great cook! Two thumbs way up for her breakfast! We were traveling with another couple, and they were in the Harbour Room--and... More

This lovely brick lighthouse is operational, so one of the treats of staying here is seeing its light reflect off the water of the lake at night. We slept with our window open in July and the sounds of the lake lulled us to sleep. The interior is quaint and welcoming and the grounds are yours for walking. While we... More

This was a highlight of our trip up the north shore. Very clean, and friendly. Breakfast was tasty and hostess very kind and helpful. The view of the harbor fun to watch. And we had the lighthouse all to ourselves!
