We extended our vacation in Minnesota by 2 days during peak leaf season.....we decided on Taylors Falls after 2 nights in a luxurious B&B in Stillwater, MN. First we were lucky to get spur of the moment reservations only because it was mid week....I asked Kate which room was the most romantic....she suggested the "Cave"....what the Old Jail B&B lacks... Stayed in the overlook suite and it was like stepping back in time to visit an old family get away. I loved the décor including the Lawrence Whelk Champaign Party record collection which I listened to on the record player. There is also a wood burning stove with firewood provided as well as hot chocolate, coffee, tea and popcorn. The... More

We stayed two separate times at this bed and breakfast in 2013. The rooms were charming. The first stay was in the cave suite. This is the first floor and has a whirlpool tub. It was very romantic and the location in town is fantastic~! You can walk down to all the restaurants and the local bakery is heavenly! You... More

What's not to love about the Old Jail Bed and Breakfast? We stayed here one night for my girlfriend's birthday and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a short stroll away from St. Croix River, Interstate State Park, and the cute, although tiny, town of Taylor's Falls. The Old Jail has both history and charm, and is for sure... More

Fiance' and I stayed there during my birthday, September 2012. We had a wonderful time! We stayed in "The Cave" suite. Its an awesome suite, lots of room, awesome bathtub. The suit has a kitchen (no oven), great dining area. Very close to the boat tours and downtown. You can walk where you need to go easily. The staff is... More

Was small but quaint on the outside. Walking on the stone sidewalk up to the entrance of room there were thistles. Our door was not locked and the screen door didn't latch. The patio table was filled with pine needles as was the patio floor. On another table there were dead tree branches. On the balcony the old plastic chairs... More

My husband and I stayed Saturday Jan 1 after skiing at Wild Mountain and you can literally walk to 3 restaurants/bars. The suite has everything you need and the little details were really neat. We are not really antique or nick-nacky people but we found the little touches very unique. The caretakers were very nice and helpful. We liked that... More

We stayed in the Overlook suite for a weekend. The suite includes a bedroom with a queen bed, a living room with a full futon and a wood stove, a kitchen with a table, sink, small fridge and microwave, a TV room with a love seat, a bathroom with a clawfoot tub (no shower) and a bedroom off the bathroom... The Old Jail is unique among the B & B's we have visited. It consists of four units: the three-story main building, formerly a two story stable building that was set on top of a one-story brewery/saloon, contains the Overlook Suite on the top floor, the Balcony Suite on the second floor, and the Cave Suite on the ground floor....
