My wife and I stayed at the Brunswick Inn in Stillwater for our anniversary on short notice this past midweek. It was a lovely property, three gorgeous room above a small cafe in an 1856 building. The Emma Room, where we stayed, was beautifully appointed with antiques, a fireplace, and a two person whirlpool tub. The innkeeper provided us an appetizer platter and half bottle of wine, an appreciated welcoming touch.
Stillwater is a quaint riverfront town, the birthplace of Minnesota along the gorgeous St. Croix River. If you know the town, you are aware of the many marvelous dining options in town. Recently we have been to Ceasar's Wine Bar and Max' Wine Bar, but this special evening we had an incredible meal at La Belle Vie, arguably the finest restaurant in Minnesota. Though the menu and its glorious wine list are very pricey, it is an experience that should not be missed.
