We went for our honeymoon. Very charming location, historic and quiet. We went in the winter, and stayed in John's Cottage. We picked that location for privacy, and the whirlpool spa/tub. We stayed about 4 days and had a pretty horrendous time. The staff was hit and miss. They made a nice effort to make it special in terms of... more

Regarding your review, we are truly sorry that you had a "horrendous visit" at our bed and breakfast inn last January 2008. We are a small family business and take pride in what we do. Two thirds of our guests come here on the recommendation of their friends. We wish that you were recommending us and regret that you are...

Our one night visit to Spicer Castle was quite positive. We stayed in Ruth's room. About half the staff were very good, but a few did not really understand customer service. All in all, not my top B&B experience, but I might consider again selecting a larger room. more

We stayed at Spicer Castle for one night to celebrate our anniversary. It is a gorgeous, old building. It is showing it's age, (peeling paint on the windows, sloping floors), but that's part of it's charm and authenticity. The inside is beautiful and the staff is wonderful! We have stayed in quite a few bed and breakfast inns, and what... more

This castle adventure has Harry Potter beat! The murder mystery is a great, non-threatening way to interact with others (it would be a ton of fun to go with people you know, too) while you role-play and try to solve the mystery of who the murderer is. We received our character information in the mail and enjoyed bringing the simple... more
