We booked a murder mystery stay on march 21. We had the Raymond cabin. There were ashes from the fireplace all over the floor. When I sat down on the loveseat dust flew into the air. There were cobwebs and dirt everywhere. I went and complained and they offered to show us another room, when we arrived there the cleaning... More

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at our country lake inn. Your initial reservation was for Raymond's Cabin which is our rustic log cabin that was built by a French lumberjack in 1912. This rustic cabin would remind guests of Little House on the Prairie and is enjoyed by many guests who want to stay in... More

Stayed there over the weekend and it was wonderful. We didn't partake of the Murder, but it was fun to see those that did. We stayed in the main house and the "noise" from the two dinners didn't bother us. But, if you aren't partaking and want a quieter experience, then stay in one of the outer rooms like the... More

What a horrible night. We came to enjoy a lovely fall getaway, but the inn was hosting one of their mystery dinners and our room was right over the dining room. It was loud and raucous and went until nearly midnight. You can't have it both ways - you are a bed & breakfast OR you have these noisy events... More

This was our third stay at this beautiful old mansion on the shores of Green Lake. What ambiance and history this place has. We have stayed in the Curry room, Raymond's Cabin and now Paul's room. Each one was as fun as the next. The staff is warm and welcoming, very friendly and they provide great service. The house itself... More

My wife and I recently shared an absolutely delightful stay at the Spicer Castle, which is truly an undiscovered treasure in the area! The house itself is one of the great architectural gems of southwestern Minnesota, and has a terrific history. Going inside the B&B, you feel like you have stepped back 100 years -- the original old wood floors,... More

My husband and I enjoy going to different B&B's. I was very disappointed in Spicer Castle. I booked my room two days before we went and never received a reseveration confirmation phone call, asking what we would like to eat for our $110.00 dollar dinner. I had to eat what they gave me and it was cold when i got... More

I am sorry that your experience at our Inn was not great. Although explanations after your stay are hardly satisfactory, I believe you deserve such. I researched your reservation and found that an email confirmation containing the murder mystery fare and murder mystery invitations was sent at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 7th. There are memory foam mattresses on our... More

I enjoy getting away now and then from the cities to a B&B on my own - mainly to relax and rejuvenate. As I was deciding, I kept seeing Spicer Castle everywhere so had to check it out! I decided to opt out of the mystery dinner for a more low-key evening so arrived later. I learned at breakfast that... More

We did the Murder Mystery Dinner while staying at this rural Minnesota B&B and had a great time ! Food was excellent and met many new folks during the meal while role playing various characters ... Each diner is a character so be ready to participate. Paul's Room was pleasant but detached from main building. Weekend was grey and windy... More

I took my husband to Spicer Castle on Friday night for an early birthday getaway. We enjoyed our stay starting out with tea and some cribbage shortly after our arrival. We stayed in the MASON room which was very comfortable with a nice view of Green Lake. That evening we attended the Mystery Dinner with 6 other guests. We all... More

I took my sweetheart to spicercastle on valentines day. what a joke, we stayed in johns cottage, there were spiders, cob webs everywhere, and the place looked like it was not cleaned in some time. the whirlpool was gross, it was stained and the brass fictures needed some tarnish remover. I would not give my dog a bath in that whirlpool.... More

Greetings from Spicer Castle Inn! Thank you for letting us know about your experience at our B&B. We are sorry and want to apologize for the unacceptable guestroom you at our Inn.
