The inn itself and the rooms and the setting are good. However, the people do not know how to run a business. If you want your wedding to be ruined and to be a disaster for all your guests, this is the place for you. Note: they set the itinerary, which was set up exactly as it should have been... More

Spicer Castle Inn is indeed and old historic place but that doesn't mean being rundown is historic. The owner said the place was last updated in 1912. That isn't something to be proud of. In desperate need of fixing many things. The grounds are sadly neglected also. This place will eventually fall apart and become unsafe if desperate repairs are... More

Fortunately, this is not your average inn or hotel...it is so much more. It is an experience! Travel back in time and enjoy a taste of the early 1900's. The rooms are charming and feature photos of the Spicer family. It is the perfect destination to unplug and relax...no televisions, clocks or radios in site. The breakfasts served daily were... More

The Spicer Castle stay is an experience, and if you go in thinking castle in the Disney sense, you would be disappointed. You have to go in knowing you are taking a trip back in time to the railroad age at the end of the 19th century. The castle (a very large old lakeside home) is showing signs of wear.... More

If you read the previous negative reviews, our experience is all of that plus. My fiance and I are pretty low maintenance, but this 3-night stay at Spicer Castle to celebrate our anniversary fell ridiculously short of the expectations created on the decieving the website. We should have known it was doomed weeks before we left when we had to... More

I read the reviews...but booked anyway because the good reviews were so "good". We stay in B&B's whenever we travel if possible...in the US and also in Europe. This is by far the worst B&B we have stayed in. BUT it has so much potential. It is dreary, dark, dingy and dirty. First the Pros: The staff is good...they were... More

We stayed at Spicer Castle for Memorial Day weekend. We reserved our cabin online, the process was quite easy. There was a little construction going on at the Castle but it wasn't too bothersome. We enjoyed the breakfasts - very filling and tasty. We enjoyed Allen's presentations every morning. Our cabin was neat and clean. We returned one afternoon to... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Spicer Castle Inn for a Friday night this past weekend. We had read very mixed reviews online but decided to keep an open mind. Approaching the Inn, I thought the view (directly on the lake) was beautiful and the quaint little cottages set up around the lush green grounds were so cute. Upon... More

My husband booked us a one-night stay for my birthday. What I didn't know is that he also booked a murder mystery dinner. We checked in and were escorted away from the main cottage to a tiny cabin. It was very tiny, but very efficient! I was surprised to see a friend show up with our "dress up" clothes for... More

We went there this march. We have done many murder mystery dinner shows, but this was special.we stayed in a quaint little cottage with a fire place. The employees were great they took time to make sure our stay was perfect. The meal was A1 perfect. The dinner theatre was fun (not for kids) the breakfast the next day was... More
