We were up in the Duluth area for a college soccer game and decided to stay a night with three of our children. This hotel was less expensive than most right in Duluth and is close to gooseberry falls and the Split Rock Lighthouse which we planned to visit the next day. Our room had a balcony with a beautiful... More

Normally I pass right thru Silver Bay on my way to my yearly trip to Grand Marais. However this year it was decided to bring the bikes and ride the trail. I chose americinn because of its amenities and reputation. This was one of the nicest I've stayed at. Breakfast was nice, the room was excellent. The view was what... More

We stayed here as a family for two nights over MEA. Our children loved the water slide and even became members of the mile club. It is a nice, clean hotel that is centrally located. Lots of awesome hiking nearby. Breakfast was nice, and service was excellent.

Don't stay here if you want to get to sleep before midnight! The pool, which attracts many families with small children is open until midnight. My room was as far away from that area as possible, but was still awoken by a loud family that was returning to their room at midnight. Don't kids have bedtimes anymore? Does the pool... More

Our second time at this location and for good reason. Nice, clean and friendly. Located in a central location on the Minnesota North Shore; therefore, conveniently located near all the popular spots. Solid feel for Lake Superior. Wonderful -- nothing fancy -- breakfast.

Was looking for a one night rental for a short getaway weekend up north. This was it. Fair price. Good location (especially to palisade head, my favorite!) within a couple hours of Grand Marais or Duluth. Lots of hiking and stunning views along the way, regardless of season! Comfortable room. Nice pool area for kids.

Returning from North Shore late at night and needed a hotel to stay for a night. Did not have a reservation which was not a problem on a Wednesday night. Front desk person gave me a better rate than was quoted on the internet. Check in took usual time without a reservation. Room was nice, clean, no issues with a... More

We attended with our daughter and her family, husband, 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son. The fact that there were two swimming areas was appreciated by everyone as the little one enjoyed the smaller pool and the older enjoyed the water slide ( she completed 3 miles) and her granny must have completed at least one mile.... We showed up for our honeymoon to find out we had been upgraded to a king suite with Jacuzzi for free! Beautiful view of lake. Clean room, no odors. Staff was amazing to help. Breakfast was great, many options including waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and bacon as well as the basic fruit, yogurt, ect.
