I really liked the atmosphere as I walked into this hotel. Although this is a haunted hotel, I unfortunately didnt come across any ghostly visitors but I was awakened by footsteps in the room above us at 2am - not ghosts. Staying at the Palmer House is an EVENT, not just a night's lodging. Very comfortable rooms, and the ambience of the whole place is marvelous. I did not stay at this hotel, but did get to tour the rooms during a recent visist, Sept. 2002. It is a beautiful old hotel, built in 1901. The rooms are very nice, some with jacuzzis. Old hotels are jems, consider staying. more
