Historic hotels often feel dated, but The Saint Paul is different. I thoroughly enjoyed the restored lobby, which was impressive and comfortable. Service, from the front door to the front desk, was as good as I've experienced at top of the line hotels. It does not have the typical down sides I associate with older hotels. The rooms are nicely... More

Everything about this hotel was fantastic and first class. Room was small but comfortable with lovely furniture and comfy bed. Maid service was efficient and unobtrusive. High Tea was a rare treat and service was impeccable. The restaurant had excellent food and ambience and was not so noisy as to prohibit conversation. Some of the concierge were inexperienced about the... More

We stayed here one night in June 2015. The Saint Paul Hotel is a beautifully restored historic hotel right in downtown St Paul - convenient to everything. We opted for the standard king room, which, for the quality of the hotel, was very reasonably priced. The lobby is gorgeous, as are the gardens in the front. The rooms are charming... More

This hotel is old, yet it has an inviting charm to it, stayed in the Lowry suite 1106 and it was very spacious and clean. Four poster bed and full dining room, the large space can actually be overwhelming! The St. Paul hotel really does shine at room service! Trays arrived in a timely manner, food was always nicely presented,... More

Whoever helped save this landmark hotel from the wrecking ball in the 1980s deserves a salute & hug. It was lovingly restored and is now lovingly maintained. As you approach the St. Paul Hotel, you're reminded of a golden era of downtown hotels, with soaring architecture and a colorful garden ringing the circular driveway. (Tip: if you drove, use the... Took my mom and sister for afternoon tea at the Saint Paul hotel. It was lovely! We were seated at the lobby and were given quaint teacups with milk and sugar also available (I take my tea with milk) with the Black Currant tea. They served a five-course small-bites meal, which to me was plenty. Don't come famished though as... More

Dear hurricane_kt1: Thank you for the review and I am happy you enjoyed the afternoon tea. You are correct on the popularity of the hotel for weddings. The passing of the wedding parties through the lobby in their gowns and attire adds to the elegance of the lobby and viewing during the tea. I am sorry for the oversight on... More

Celebrated my wife's 40th birthday and the SP Hotel didn't disappoint. Stellar staff, warmly appointed room, very clean with modern amenities and plush decor. One would think the hotel will be showing it's age by now but, thankfully, management has done a great job of keeping pace with the times. The value for the location/area is a bit questionable but... The beginning of June we were at the St. Paul Hotel for the wedding reception of our son and new daughter in law. They had a large wedding and many of the guests (like myself) have worked in the hospitality industry. Having said this, it takes a lot to exceed our expectations. The mother of bride and I both received... More

We stayed at the St. Paul Hotel for our anniversary. Our king room was very nice with a pretty view. Special thanks to Tiffany for helping make us feel so special by surprising us with a special snack and champagne to toast the occasion! We will be back.
