I wanted to be able to recommend Hotel 340 but after a recent 2-night stay, all I can do is offer a warning. They actually ended up comping our bill, which was appreciated, but management and housekeeping really need to run a tighter ship. That said, the lobby is beautiful--soaring ceiling, massive fireplace, finely crafted deco fixtures you’d expect from... More

We stayed there on our wedding night and couldn't have been more pleased. First of all, the manager Jeff, couldn't have been more helpful. We had all sorts of people bail out from our wedding party reservations and he handled it like a champ. If I were him, I would have been understandingly frustrated; but I think he didn't want... I won a local contest and part of my prize was a stay at the Hotel 340, located in the University Club in downtown St. Paul. Not only did they give us the best suite in the hotel, the service was wonderful and friendly. The room was huge and gorgeous with wonderful period details, but upgraded conveniences like a big,... We were in St. Paul for a concert held at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium and found this boutique hotel online the day before. It was only a couple blocks from the concert and a very reasonable price so we decided to try it out, and we're so glad we did! From the time of check in and check out I... More

We chose this hotel on a combination of location, price and other reviews. The location is currently hindered by the street being dug up - possibly part of the light rail project in St Paul. The jack hammers didn't start too early but were certainly easily heard from our 11th floor room. Satellite Navigation tries to take you down Cedar... More

On Labour Day weekend we took a trip to St Paul. I found this hotel online and chose it because of its location and based on information on their website. I also wanted to stay here because we've never stayed in a boutique hotel before. It was a little hard to get to (downtown St Paul is undergoing some major... More

I live in the Twin Cities and had no idea this hotel was here. Located on the top floors of the University Club, Hotel 340 provides convenient access to downtown St. Paul. There is a large construction project going on in downtown St. Paul and access to the hotel is difficult, but surprisingly we were not disturbed by construction noise.... More

Stayed at this hotel for two nights in June 2011 for a wedding. Could not have asked for anything better. This is the perfect boutique hotel with rooms that are each unique and offer upscale, upgraded decor and amenities. This is a great alternative to all the branded hotels you see everywhere. The manager was great and provided the best... More

The aura is awesome, the history is fantasic, Ryan the manager is doing a great job. I travel 250 days a year all over the globe and this hotel has now become a staple for me for business or pleasure. I can't say enough about it. Get the bigger room for 30 dollars more, trust me you won't regret it.... More

The good: Fantastic location if you are in downtown St. Paul, wonderful historic building that has been decently renovated to apartments/hotel. Renovations appear to be ongoing. Our floor had a wonderful lounge area which would be good for sitting with family or friends, and the breakfast dining area is large as well. Breakfast was adequate but not fancy - coffee,... More
