Perfect location just steps from light rail & Mississippi River-& Mickey's Dining Car. Historic hotel, friendly staff. Each room is different. This place is not for those who want predictability, but for adventurous type who want to go off the beaten path & see a bit of history. Free breakfast & comfy beds- what's not to like?

I always look for historic hotels when I travel, so I was very happy to discover Hotel 340 when looking for a room in downtown St Paul. Beautifully restored historic building, modernization well-done, lovely continental breakfast, helpful staff. I stayed in one of the Economy Rooms which was perhaps the tiniest hotel room I've ever stayed in here in the... More

Area around hotel a little run down. Not many things to do in immediate area. Lots of homeless people on streets. Hotel nicely restored. Beautiful entry hall, historic. Very comfortable room. Some noise from light rail, but convenient for using light rail. Friendly staff. Hotel lobby historic and nicely renovated. Breakfast a notch about standard hotel breakfast buffet.

We enjoyed our stay. We had a regular room which was not too large but was enough. It had a nice kitchenette, with dishes and real glasses. The breakfast was better than the usual hotel continental. The bar in the lobby was a plus, especially as the lobby was a very nice place to sit.

We loved this hotel!! From the time we walked through the door til the time we checked out!! Just loved wondering through to check out the old charm. The breakfast was great and in such a lovely room!! Bar I would assume they would call it. Completely worth a stop to wander through even if your not staying...

Loved every minute of our stay...the room was very comfortable and unique . Loved the way they have kept the old look with the modern conveniences. We attended a wedding and the room was delightful. The warm woods, with carvings were beautiful. The staff was professional and friendly.

I stayed for 1 night in July 2014. It is a really interesting and beautiful hotel boutique hotel. The room was smaller, but more than efficient. They had some really nice touches like the keurig and big flat screen tv. Room and bathroom were both very clean. Over all, great stay!

I'll have to disagree with many other reviewers and say Hotel 340 absolutely does not deserve to be thought of in a same category as other older boutique hotels in American cities. It's an accidental, haphazard mix of early 20th century design, cheap renovations, years of accumulated dust, and incredibly low lightbulb wattage. The public rooms were once grand, but... More

I am very late in posting this review, as my stay was in 10/13, but I think it is an important issue. Early morning my first day there I awoke to an alarm and loud speaker saying that a fire alarm had been set off and the hotel needed to be evacuated immediately - do not use the elevators. Due... I was coming to town for work, but also wanted to come into town early to hang out with friends. I needed a reasonable place to stay, but know there are some dumps in St. Paul. This hotel has smaller rooms available for a lower rate, and its perfect for me. Very nice old world flavor, nice beds and good... More
