My son and I have stayed here twice this year. We will book a room in December as well. We can walk across the street or take the subway to reach the hospital. In the subway and skyways are wonderful little stores to visit. The best soft yogurt and best fresh popcorn can be found in the subway under the... More

We've stayed here before and enjoy the antiquated charm of the hotel shops, the beautiful ballroom accessories, and the endlessly helpful and friendly staff. The only disappointment was the service in the restaurant for the breakfast buffet; we had to ask for the included juice, coffee refills, and clean utensils. And the breakfast buffet food was so substandard - especially... More

We stayed here when we went to a concert in town. We got more than I expected for the amount of money I paid. The room was fairly run-of-the-mill, but it had more than enough room and storage. I will say the room service breakfast I ordered wasn't all that great (I could make better at home), even though I... More

I booked this hotel on booking.com after reading the reviews. What they failed to mention this hotel hasnt seen a remodel in many years. The room was small and dark. The bathroom was very hospital like. The only good thing was the walkway from the hotel goes directly to mayo clinic. If i would need to go back to mayo... More

Stayed at this hotel recently for a conference (which was at Mayo Clinic). I was able to get a 'deluxe' room for nearly $50 less than the nearby Marriott. Now, a Marriott would give you the experience you'd get from any Marriott anywhere. I wanted to experience an older hotel though so went with this - plus, the price was... More

I grew up in Rochester and heard (mostly old people) talk about how great the Kahler is, so when I last visited Rochester with my husband and some friends, I decided I wanted to stay there. I got an amazing deal from Priceline ($59 dollars + taxes/fees for booking the day of on my mobile phone), so I really can't... More

The Kahler was absolutley terrible. I heard some of the rooms are remodeled and some are not. I obviously did not get a remodeled room. It was filthy and gross.A Motel 6 would have been better. My toilet was dirty and it smelled terrible. Really spend a tad more and stay somewhere else!

Extremely convenient to Mayo complex. Underground tunnel via elevator to subway level at Mayo to keep you out of the weather. Quick checkin with a reservation. Suggest you call for reservation as they will give you a special patient rate which includes free parking (normally $10+/day). I choose not to have maid service in the morning since I was only... First the parking ramp was full, so I had to park 3 blocks away and walk. When I finally got to my room I could not believe how old and disgustingly dirty it was, the bathroom especially needs updating and a serious cleaning! I would never ever stay here again!!

The Kahler is in a great location because it's right across the street from the Clinic. Rooms are small, keys were a pain to insert & reinsert several times. Biggest complaint was the parking in their lot. We came back 2 nights late due to being at hospital & the lot was full. Had to find another public lot down... More
