I stayed at the Kahler Grand for a week while attending a medical conference at Mayo. It is literally across a small side street for the main hospital, so if extremely close proximity is your primary goal, then it should suit your needs just fine. There are however many other, nicer, more modern hotels in this town, clustered amongst the... More

although it is a older hotel, the location is terrific, and the staff is just so nice. The rooms are small, but ours was clean, neat, and the air conditioning worked just fine. We were in roon 262, and if your sick, oe early sleeper, it is not a good room as it opens up to the Peace Courtyard where... More

A very nice older hotel and some great shops by lobby . A perfect place to stay if visiting mayo clinic as it connects with the underground tunnels and is very easy to get around. Also to shop downtown many skywalks to use to keep out of bad weather. They are in the process of upgrading their rooms and mine... More

I feared the worst upon checking in - long wait and then when a second front desk clerk finally came, she acted overwhelmed and said at one point it was "chaos" at the hotel. Nice. Room was extremely dated -- do they think slapping a home depot slab of granite on top of the desk really counts as upgrading? And... More

I want to complement Miss Chelsea Shapiro and Lindsey Thompson. At my arrival at the hotel on july 17 2014 w my daughter for an upcoming wedding I was erroneously charged for the airport shuttle taxi driver. I complained to the desk and within an hour the driver had returned to the hotel with my 22.00 that he had charged... More

My sister and I stayed at the Kahler Grand Hotel because of a procedure she was having at Mayo Clinic. The hotel is convenient for appointments, but is far from being Grand. Our room needed a really good vacuuming. The facial tissue and toilet paper was 'industrial-grade' and could have been used for sandpaper.

Having stayed previously at this hotel, we were pleased that the hotel has been working on upgrading rooms. We had a corner room on the second floor which had been redone. Much, much better than the previous times we have stayed there. Is it perfect? No. But, the price is good compared to others in the area and we do... More

Grand doesn't sum up this hotel at all! The rooms are small, old and generally not comfortable. No climate control, fans, very few outlets, and the bathrooms are ridiculously tiny and virtually unusable with pedestal sinks and no space for anything. Essentially throw in a flat screen TV into a 1950 room and call it updated. The staff is very... More

The management here is exploiting their proximity to the Mayo Clinic. As other reviewers have noted, we stayed here because it is directly across the street from the Mayo Clinic and we were hoping for a nice place to rest and recuperate and wanted to be able to park our car and walk to appointments and the hospital. When we... More

This Hotel has not kept up with its reputation! It is directly across from Mayo Clinic. Part of the Hotel was built in the 1900's and the south side 1970's. I have stayed on both sides and there is a difference. But both lack today's need for electrical outlets. I had one outlet near the window 3' from the bed... More
