I was expecting a lot more from a hotel with grand in the name. All of the staff members have been friendly and really helpful. The room was smaller than expected. It was clean and warm. However, the tiny bathroom looks older than me. It is apparently a converted hospital that was not updated when converted. I am hoping for... More

The bed was comfy, the decor was nice, price was good. IF I had needed to go to the Mayo this would have been the spot. Front desk attendant was great, room was clean. BUT......the room smelled so badly of stale smoke that I had the windows open the whole time we were staying and even had to bring in... More

If you're a Mayo patient, this is a great location. The rooms are very quiet, clean, and adequate in size. Incredible mattress -- I like a very solid, firm mattress. Parking in the Kahler ramp is free is you're a Mayo patient. With they started serving breakfast at 6 am, however. They don't start until 6:30, and if you have... More

Everything was great. We stayed in the 2-bedroom suite. It had the warmth of wood and beautiful area rugs with all of the modern conveniences... not to mention space and light. What weary travelers need during a stressful time.

We stayed here for my re-check at Mayo. I have had many of these so have stayed at a lot of places in Rochester. Our room cost $139 which is high given it's worn condition. The phone did not work, the electrical outlet by the sink did not work, the bathroom is small, out of date and grubby, there was... More

I have stayed here a couple times. The first was a regular room. It was too small and outdated. This time we chose the executive room. It was newly furnished and spacious. A Remodeled bathroom. Only issue is we like it cold in the room and since it was winter I don't think they had the Ac available. However the... More

I was in Rochester for a very scary procedure and the manager David Fischer was more than just casually concerned, he went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, going so far as to personally buy me pineapple slices when the hotel restaurant didn't carry them. He is more than just a manager, he's a friend, and I can't... More

I can put up with almost anything, but trying to sleep in a very hard uncomfortable bed is impossible. Like most people I am visiting this hotel because I am a patient at the Mayo Clinic. I am in pain and need to get a descent sleep. I needed to take additional pain medication in order to get any sleep... More

My family has been coming up to the Mayo Clinic for over 30 years. We have our choice of many hotels in the Rochester area, but we always select the Kahler Grand. The people are so friendly, the hotel is so well-furnished, and above all, it is so very conveniently located. We wish them the best as they continue to... More

Yesterday, I went onto their website to book some rooms. Because of some unique requirements, I also called to speak with an agent. For the very same room that was showing on their website, she quoted a much higher price $189 vs. $129 online. I thanked her and just booked it online at the lower price. I promptly received the...
