My son had his wedding reception at the Kahler a couple weeks ago. I cannot say enough about how great everything involving the event went, despite their working with 3 different event coordinators over the course of a year. Everyone talked about how great the food was, what a great venue it is, etc. HOWEVER, if I were to do... More

To be closer to the Mayo Clinic, we moved to the Kahler Grand from a hotel that was further out (and offered free breakfast). The location and convenience to Mayo Clinic and downtown Rochester were excellent. You can easily walk to all the great downtown restaurants from the Kahler Grand. You can access the Mayo Clinic by walking across the... More

I actually feel bad giving this hotel just an average rating, so will start with the good points. The lady we dealt with at check-in was very nice, our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and they have a parking garage. BUT...our corner room was very small, the closet door was broken, the bath light didn't work, the tub... More

We stayed here for a conference and this was our 11th time at Mayo/Rochester. The only convenience was our group did not have to rent a bus to get us to the Mayo Clinic for our doctor's presentation. The floors for the hotel are spread out so it can be a hike from the front desk to your room, a... More

OK the Kahler Grand has a great connection to the Mayo Clinic through the underground subway and has been The Mayo hotel for generations (my parents and even my grandparents stayed here). However as I write this from our unmade up room at 4:30 (and yes I put the the door request for maid service out and called the front... More

I stayed at the Kahler for several nights while my husband was having surgery at Methodist Hospital. I was able to park my car, included in the room rate, leave it there for all of the days of my stay and walk everywhere. You are in super-close walking distance to downtown, clinic, hospital, shopping, free concerts. I was all alone... More

Simply put, the staff of the Kahler Grand knows what they are doing when it comes to service and the people they are hosting. Situated right next to the Mayo Clinic, you know why people are staying there. My wife was there for a 12 day stay in August of 2013 for testing and then again for an 8 day... More

Very nice hotel in Rochester next to the Mayo Clinic. If you arrive on Sunday, be warned that not everything in the hotel is available. Also, during our stay the hot tub was out of service but the sauna was very very nice. The room was comfortable and clean but is in need of some major updates. Toilets, bathtubs, chairs... More

We stayed at Kahler for 3 nights, it was a total disaster. We got the two bedroom suite thinking it would be an upgrade. Well, it was so bad, and they were sold out so we couldn';t change rooms. The room had dog pee everywhere..the sides by the walls had some kind of pesticide dust all around. The furniture was... More

Great hotel for a Mayo Clinic trip. Get off the elevator, walk 50 feet, make a right turn and you're in Mayo. all underground. Rooms are adequate, not big but considering you wont be spending much time in the room they're OK. The entire staff is caring. Not just pretending to care but really try to make your stay as... More
