This hotel belongs in the past.....The staff was very good and friendly and the place was clean. The rest was disappointing. We paid more to be in a deluxe room because we wanted to be in the recently renovated rooms....I was surprised to find in a deluxe room one little shampoo and a sliver of a soap...The coffee maker had... more

Just stayed at the Kahler Grand and was very surprised that the hotel had not been brought to the latest standards. 1980's would have even worked. The Kahler is like the 1950's without the mid-century Eames panache. Yes, that outdated. Even the bathroom outlet was a two prong. When's the last time you've seen a "safety razor" disposal slot in... more

The Kahler Grand is just across the street from one of the main buildings of the Mayo Clinic, and is accessible by simply crossing the street, or by the tunnel under the hotel. The lobby has an old world charm to it, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There are many restaurants and shops in the hotel and... more

I stayed at the Kahler Grand for almost three weeks. Due to appointments at Mayo Clinic, I chose the Kahler because of it's convenient access to the clinic which is right across the street. All of the hotel employees were very friently and helpful. They were always available to answer questions we had about anything from where we could find... more

I have stayed at the Kahler many times. The staff is very good and the location very covenient to the Myao Clinic. However this last vist is my last. The room my wife and I had was dated, dirty and the beds rock hard. In talking with the front desk, who know me as a regular visitor were apologetic but... more

For $69 a night, and the location across the driveway to the Mayo Clinic conference I was attending, I am very pleased with the Mahler Grand Hotel. The parking garage does have very tiny spaces, and I am glad I could leave the car in the garage for my entire stay. Walking in from the parking garage. I did feel... more

I stayed at the Kahler during the Republican State Convention and it was horrible. It has such a great location and it was really easy to access the convention from, but the rooms and service were terrible. I stayed for 2 nights. The ceiling tiles were falling apart, and the room was not as clean as it could be. One... more

We just returned from the Kahler, April 22, 2009. I requested the room we previously occupied in January because the windows, all 3 of them, open with screens. To my delight, my request was honored. It was a Deluxe King with a mini-refrigerator, microwave, 2 separate lavatories; one which had a large amount of counter space located outside the bathroom... more

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is old and smells. The internet is not highspeed and not wireless. The bathrooms are small - in some rooms your knees will hit the wall. The water backs up into the tub up to the ankles. more

Our stay at the Kahler Grand was great! The staff was very attentive and we even enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the restaurant which was a phenomenal value along with the entire stay. I would recommend the hotel to any out of town visitors. more

Good evening from the Kahler Grand, Thank you very much for your kind endorsement of our hotel and our staff. I'm glad you enjoyed the Grand Grill's breakfast buffet and encourage you to try the fresh scones and pastries in the Bakery Basket during your next visit. I feel it's one of our best kept secrets! Safe travels and best...
