room is outdated, not pretty like their pictures. Very old carpet and bathrooms look like they are from the 30s. Our first room was dusty, old old old carpet and i would not even sit on the bed, it looked like from a scary movie. If you are ocd about time, you stay here if you are trying to get... More

Stayed here for two months while my grandmother was being treated for cancer. The staff was incredibly understanding and caring for the entire time I was there. I had to extend my stay repeatedly on short notice, and they were incredibly generous. Everyone in the hotel was actively invested in my wellbeing and that of my grandma, taking time out... More

Well, it's across the street from the Gonda Building at Mayo, the room was clean, and it's cheap. That's the good news. Beyond that, it's about as tired a hotel as I've seen in some time, anywhere. Our guest room was just incredibly outdated -- bathroom fixtures dating from the 1950s, room decor equally outdated, barely an outlet to be... More

This hotel's glory days are past but could be easily recaptured if only management had the will: Front desk staff aren't available when phoned from room; wifi in rooms is nightmare of lengthy outsourced "teckies," lobby has 2 public computers which deserve their own dedicated and private (hotel stayers only) location. The brunch is no longer offered.....because of an egg... More

After many years of staying at the Kahler Grand and enjoying it, I feel led to change my previous review of this hotel. A few weeks ago, while staying in Rochester at this same lodging, our car, which had been parked by one of the hotel bellmen in the parking garage, was robbed. When I complained to the manager about... More

I recently stayed at the Kahler Grand for 5 nights. I got a cheap deal online. The hotel is very handy to the Mayo Clinic in downtown Rochester. The staff are friendly and service is pretty good at the check-in desk. The room was small and the furnishings very dated. The sink/basin was in the room rather than in the... More

Across the street from Mayo Clinic, less than 5 minute walk, even with wheelchair, to Mayo appointments. Restaurants meets all dietary requirements without sacrificing flavor or choices. Rooms are clean and quiet

It's old. I can handle old. I'm not a hotel snob but I did end up switching rooms at 1 am because I had dirty water backing up in my sink. The rooms are fine. Dated but that doesn't matter. It was clean buy the only issue was the bathrooms. The tubs felt like they had put a foam cover... More

We are sorry the Kahler Grand did not meet your needs when you visited Rochester. We have many different rooms types to meet everyone's needs, even rooms without "hinky" tubs. Maybe if you are ever back in town, you will try us out again. Thank you for staying at the Kahler Grand. More

We booked the hotel for 71 dollars a night for four on expedia, but the hotel only gave of two double beds-- beware. This clinic is close to Mayo, if thats what you like. The good: the pool, though busy, is on the top floor and has a nice ambiance. We were on the fourth floor- good cable, clean sheets,... More
