I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Inn. My husband and I spent a long weekend in Red Wing and stayed in Helen's Room... From the fresh baked cookies, appetizers and wine everyday to our very cozy room we could not have been more pleased. We opted for our homemade breakfast in our room each day, that... More

The Golden Lantern is a very nice B&B, within walking distance of downtown Red Wing with shops and restaurants. The house is beautiful, with amazing woodwork and comfortable rooms. Sioux is a gracious host who provides a nice introduction and tour of the home when you arrive. You will also find wine and appetizers when you arrive, a great way... More

My boyfriend and I traveled here recently for our anniversary, and it was amazing! It was cozy and relaxing, we had a fireplace and hot tub. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this quaint spot definitely exceeded our expectations! I will definitely be back. We thought it might be fun to try to stay in every room of the... More

We love staying at the Golden Lantern. It has everything you could want from history, service and a welcoming host. The wine/cheese and cookies offered upon arrival hit the spot after a day of travel. In the morning you are sent off with a fabulous breakfast! In between, you can rest and enjoy your room and its' amenities or sight... More

My wife and I stayed over Labor Day weekend at the Golden Lantern In. And absolutely loved it! We joked with the owner that all the other B&Bs would have a tough time living up to hers! Seriously, the house was well cared for, the whole place clean and comfortable, and the attention to detail and service were top-notch. I... More

I booked the Golden Lantern because my friend grew up in this house. Leta's room was her room. I was not expecting such a charming environment with such an elegant breakfast. The present owner tells you the history of the house and makes her guests feel welcome and appreciated throughout their stay. I recommend the Golden Lantern to anyone visiting... More

Stayed in Leta's room for a night because my boyfriend and I were going to a wedding in Red Wing. Sioux is delightful, the breakfast was amazing (fruit parfait, raspberry stuffed french toast and an asparagus & bacon frittata), I was actually surprised at how large the room was (it looked like a closet online) and the 2-person jacuzzi in... My husband and I boated to Red Wing on a Mississippi River fishing adventure. We decided to stay at the Golden Lantern because it was off the beaten path. We were very pleased with the Inn's location (a 7 block hike up from the river's edge). It was very comfortable and quiet. Sioux greeted us with a short tour and... More

Comfortable bed. Beautiful backyard with an inviting fireplace. Delicious breakfast of perfect portions. Friendly but not too friendly owner and staff. Enjoy the balcony of Helen's suite for a private outdoor space. A bit creaky in the hallways but to be expected in a beautiful old home. Mollie

My Husband and I wanted a quiet and relaxing start to our honeymoon and this was just right! Breakfast was delivered to our room the first morning which was great! The only downside was that our room was not equipped with a shower, only a Jacuzzi tub, which was fine as we weren't on any type of strict schedule. It... More
