In the area on a mother-daughter trip to enjoy the trails & Root River. Spent 2 nights at the Trailhead for $125/night. We stayed in "suite" 207 which offered one Queen size bed. The kitchen included a microwave, oven, and refrigerator which was adequate aside from the fact that there were very few dishes or linens if indeed you were... More

I tried to look for all the positives I could during our 3 day stay (Thurs-Sun): The room is spacious (we rented suite 302, a converted 6th grade classroom), the location from the Preston Harmony Trail is perfect (just a block away), the owner was nice (actually came up to our room to say hello) and that’s about it. I... More

Our standard room was nice with what seemed like newer carpet. My friends next door said there's wasn't quite as nice. We would stay again. Didn't see the cabins they have on their Web site. Continental breakfast was advertised but there was none. It's more like a four for it's class but the lack of breakfast was disappointing.

My sisters & I brought my mom here to celebrate her birthday with a "Girls Night". We stayed here off season, so the price was very reasonable. There is access directly to the trails. They have sauna & hot tub which we enjoyed given it was December; although in full disclosure both are relatively small. The cabin accommodated all 6... More

Stayed in a school house suite. Very roomy, clean and cozy. Hot tub a plus after a day of riding. Staff was very helpful. Great location for access to bike trails. Sandwich shop and IGA near by for groceries. Caseys in town for gas. We toured local caves and a Amish community and bakery in Harmony. Orchard near by with... More

We stayed at the newly renovated Suite 311-Detention Hall--the room was spacious, clean and very nice. Even though all the other suites were booked, you wouldn't know it b/c it was so quiet. This was our first time in the area for biking and we would definitely choose this place again. The convenience store was really nice to have right... More

Second year for us in the Biker's Cabin. We have not stayed in the motel rooms or "suites". Understand that this place is all about location for biking. Cabin is small (more than two adults would be uncomfortably tight) but decently equipped. Perfectly located for Root River and Harmony-Preston trail riding. Staff always friendly and helpful. No wifi in cabin,... More

couldn't believe TV didn't even have a movie channel at that price. It was the only motel in town with rooms to get on the bike trail. At trailhead you used to be able to ride right up into the rooms. These accomodations for your bike were sketchy at best.

I stayed here for 2 nights in May while in the area for a bike race. A great location on the bike trail and my room was clean, but the rooms are not updated and little soundproofing between rooms. Breakfast selection was limited, with bagels and donuts served still in the packaging from the grocery store. The ice provided was... More

We bike the Root River trails every summer, and always choose The Trailhead Inn in Preston as our base. Located directly on the trail in Preston, this motel is made for bicyclists. Rooms are large enough to pull bikes in overnight, keeping them safe from the elements. There is a large deck with tables/chairs/ umbrellas and porch swings running the... More
