This Econo Lodge is near the intersection of highways 75 and 12, just over the South Dakota line in the Minnesota town of Ortonville, a few hours west of Minneapolis. The property must be at least a decade old, but is reasonably well maintained and competitively priced. Our room was very large, with a queen bed, recliner, work/dining table, and... More

Plenty of room and clean. I have stayed in places just as nice for less money. I think it was a little pricey for the location. Our room was at the top of the stairs and I was pleasantly surprised we didn't hear more noise.

We had a 2 queen larger room, and it was very spacious, even with a roll away bed, did not lose any room space. Clean, had a recliner, a/c worked well. Breakfast was cereal only, but worked ok. Wifi is kind of wonky, have to log onto a site every time, and sometimes will have do again while already on... More

This place surprised me for the price we paid. It was clean, had a fridge, microwave, and a recliner. The bed was good and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was minimal, but I didn't expect much from an economy motel. It was worth what we paid.

I stayed all week working on a local road project. The place was booked solid and I called the hotel after making my reservations through the toll free line for a night I Corp could not get for me and the manager hooked me up.

Just about everything on my trip to Big Stone Lake for the South Dakota Walleye Opener went wrong... EXCEPT for my stay at the Econo-Lodge in Ortonville... They bent over backwards to make my trip bearable. First, I didn't get in until almost 2am... the manager still got up to check me with a big friendly smile and greeting. She... More

Double queen non-smoking room on the first floor was very clean and smelled nice upon arrival. Room includes a very small table and two chairs, 32" flat screen tv with decent cable including HBO. The room also has a medium size refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Tub/shower and toilet are separated from the sink which is nice. The hotel has... More

The hotel has been under new ownership for almost two years. It is now a family owned business and the owners are friendly had hard working. The hotel, while older, is clean and well maintained. We stay here every year and they are building the hotel up. As it is the only hotel in town and you know you are... More

We always check the bed as soon as we enter a hotel room. This time we found something-just not sure what. The bed did not have a fitted sheet over the mattress so it was easy to turn the sheet back. When we did we found something small, dark brown and translucent along the upper rib of the mattress. We... More
