Located right off of I-53 you can't beat the location. Were a little disappointed that they closed down the pool early. For $145/night the continental breakfast was a little iffy. The food at the restaurant bar was pricey, and the service was bad. The rooms were very clean. The shower didn't quite get hot enough, and at $145 I expected... More

Make sure you request a Non-smoking room. Maybe call back and verify before you visit. We were assigned a smoking room and it was nasty! They tried to charge us for an upgrade for a non-smoking room across the hall. Lost our balcony view of lake but got a fireplace and Jacuzzi tub in main room (which we did not... More

Very disapointed. the employees don't have a clue. we asked if they had a boat ramp they said yes, they do not. you have to go down the road to the public access. we asked if they had a fish cleaning house, they said yes. when we got back from fishing it was dark. went to where we thought the... Stayed at Ovesons on our way to Canada from Twin Cities. Resort was modern, clean, and well maintained. Has a feel of an up-north lodge. Bed was firm but we slept fine. Onsite restaurant was very convenient and offered decent meals, as well as ice cream. Free continental breakfast consists of toast and coffee. Didn't use the pool area but... More

We have stayed at this hotel several times and each time under different ownership. We have noticed a decline in standards with each change. The breakfast is pitiful at best as it barely qualifies as such anymore. The soaps and shampoos are the cheapest of the cheap being little portions in tear open bags. The towels are not soft even... We had so much fun during our stay. There was a group of us in different rooms. The staff was most accommodating and helpful. The lobby is decorated in such good taste, very north woods feel. Our room had a fire place, looked nice, but we were in the pool or communal rooms most of the time, so never fired... More

The "resort" was really more of a hotel. It is pretty nice, not four stars but comfortable. The cons: The waterslide was only open odd hours, which was very disappointing, and the hot tub was always being refilled (and not hot). The sauna was nice. There really isn't a restaurant on premises, either. You pretty much need to drive into... More

We stayed here one night enroute to Kettle Falls in Voyageurs' National Park. The same folks manage both properties. We arrived at Oveson's early in the afternoon, expecting to rent a canoe and spend some time at the "resort". Well, there was one canoe, and it was occupied. So much for that. The big disappointment however was that there was... More

We recently stayed one night here with two small children. We spent the majority of our time in the pool. Our kids swam and enjoyed the zero depth pool and small slide along with the hot tub. At 2:00 the big slide opened and our daughter spent the remaining time on that. I went down the slide too and it... More

Very misleading...slide was closed and is apparently only open on weekends. Restaurant also closed inside. I feel for the future of this place because at the rate they are going the place looks like it may be ready to throw in the towel completely. It does have a lot of potential however as it is a very nice hotel. Terrible... More
