We stayed at Mango Sunset B&B for our week long stay on the Big Island. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the common area has great accommodations (Computer, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, refrigerator, beach towels, hammock and barbeque). The owners (Marsha and Hans) are extremely welcoming and offered us wonderful tips about places to go and things to do on... More

While Mango Sunset bills itself as a B&B, you should know that it is a working coffee farm, and, as such, has much more of a feel a farm stay than a true B&B. To start with, the place is located in the Kona coffee belt at about 1,500 feet above sea level. This means that not only are you... More

Of course we don't know what the guest's experience is with farm stay, but with those, you work. This guest traveled alone and stayed for 2 days. He had booked through a third party listing site, meaning, he had probably never been on our site. "To start with, the place is located in the Kona coffee belt". Sir, what do you... More

We stayed at Mango Sunset last June (2013), and ay yai yai, what a disappointment. The owners were away so we were hosted by a couple of very sweet interns, no complaints there, but the place is just a dump. Old dirt in the shared bathroom, like fuzz on the walls and the light fixture kind of dirt, the kind... More

Yes, we went on our first vacation in 10 years last June and never met those guests. This is the only complaint about that time when we had 2 long-term and trained interns in charge of the BnB. Arguing about the impressions these guests had would be pointless. However, some statements are factually wrong: NONE of the towels or bedding... More

Having never stayed on a coffee farm this was a first for us! Finding the B&B in the dark was a bit of a challenge but we eventually found it and appreciated the secluded location. It is very quiet and much cooler than Kona despite being only about 10-15 mins away. We had a twin room with our own bathroom... More

We stayed three nights and our son and daughter-in-law stayed two nights, having to leave before us to return home. This B&B is located on a working coffee farm and Hans and Marsha are very busy people, but they have organized their B&B to mesh well with their farming operation. The farm is located high on the western slope of... More

Great place to stay with an incredible view. Innkeepers are fun and an amazing font of knowledge on coffee and everything else in the world. Water pressure and room fittings only fair to moderate, but highly recommended because of the great atmosphere.

We spent 3 lovely days with Hans & Marsha and enjoyed our stay. The food was wonderful and the sunsets spectacular. Their property is in a quiet rural area. The hosts are very knowledgeable and willing to share their information. The breakfasts were exceptionally good and they create a warm atmosphere for their guests. The coffee is great too !

My husband and I stayed at the Mango Sunset BnB at Lyman Farms for 2 nights. The BnB was full during the time we stayed. We really liked the "activities room" (with computer & TV), as well as the kichen access. Breakfast was fine, the first day was waffles, the second was pancakes (I heard the guy next to me... More

The best thing about this B&B is the view of the sunset. You sit in the gazebo and it's a great view of the coffee plantation, the ocean and the sun setting on the ocean. However, the rooms are small and musty. The bathrooms are cramped and they don't provide any toiletries. Breakfast is bad - really bad. The juices... More

Aloha, Although this is overall not a "bad" review, it contains falsehoods that need to be addressed. This guest stayed for 2 nights. They arrived as planned "late" (after 8:30), i.e., we had sent them our "self check in instructions" -- we did not check them in that evening. In the morning, they were gone, left early for an Island... More

Here is my experience at the Mango Sunset BnB. This place is a true BnB. Reservations are super easy. It's all online! (Me: Honu Room $120. 11/26-11/28.) If you look at their reservations, they are usually fully booked. First, I should clarify that this place is not a hotel; it is a BnB. Second, I would also like to clarify... More
