I was in town on business. I stayed for 11 nights. Cidney at the front desk was great. She was very hospitable and had great recommendations for food and beer in the area. I booked this hotel based on proximity to my client. I was very disappointed that there is no fitness center. Nothing at all. However, the spa and... More

I got caught by weather after seeing the St. Olaf Christmas Concert (recommend it!). I booked this hotel very easily, and it was the smartest move I made. The hotel was clean and very comfortable, the employees were all very friendly and knowledgeable, and I very much enjoyed my stay, especially since I hadn't planned to stay there and didn't... More

Right next to the train tracks, and frequent trains through the night blow the whistle long and loud as they approach, pass, and travel on. Very hard to sleep, even with ear plugs. Room was clean, room service quite good, if I'd been awake enough to enjoy amenities.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. We understand how important a quiet environment is and apologize about the train that runs behind the hotel. For any future stays request a room on the opposite side of the tracks and most people don't realize it's even there. We hope you will give us another chance if... More

We stayed one night here when visiting friends in Northfield. The location is really good, a very short 2-3 minute walk from downtown. The beds were exceptional, the most comfy hotel beds I have slept in for a long time. The room was clean and comfortable. I did not get a chance to sample breakfast. There is a freight train... The Country Inn and Suites is a great place to stay when visiting Carlton College. It is only a few blocks' walk from the campus, in easy reach of shops and businesses. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, and the pool is open 6-12, which means that even if you're attending a conference with long sessions, you can take... More

Yes it was annoying that the maid service didn't change the sheets when I had a bloddy nose in my sleep, twice, but the desk clerk hosting not-quite-21 year old friends to drink beer in the lobby on Saturday night: totally unacceptable. the trains came by once a night, and were not aproblem for me at all

This place only has business because there are only two semi-decent hotels in the town and there are two colleges with different semester/trimesters so there is plenty of business. The staff is not very attentive. If there is a problem, they will right it, but they don't even apologize. It is right next to a train track that is very... More

The hotel doesn't look like pictures on their website. i paid more than $100 and get a motel-quality stay should worth $40. The receptionist was cold and didn't try. There was a train track near by, woke me up twice. The bathroom doesn't have tooth paste. Ultensils for the mediocre breakfast looked like they ve never been cleaned. I stayed... More

All of the below are acceptable if the hotel only cost $40 per night: - noisy AC - near rail road -- will wake you up - cold receptionist - dirty breakfast utensils - unattractive building - bath room doesn't have tooth past

I had low expectations for this hotel from other reviews but It was the only place left in town for Family weekend at our daughter's college. It was right on RR tracks and not a pleasant walk to town, so we just slept there and didn't return at all during the day. Still it was close- 3 minute drive to... More
