Nice clean hotel. Within easy walking distance to Northville Main Street. Unique businesses, boutiques and dining to choose from. Quaint small town atmosphere. Hotel had hot breakfast each morning. Frig, microwave in the room. Bed very comfortable!

Context: stayed several nights while on business in Northfield Pros: Few; they did provide a breakfast and one of the mornings, there were hot eggs and sausage, with fruit and other choices; helpful staff Cons: The hallways and other common areas had little pieces of debris and other unidentifiable items; did not seem to be that clean and tidy of... Stay here if you like being woke up by trains running past your window 10 feet away. The crossing is unmarked, so each one blasts on its horn! The walls are thin so if the trains aren't bad enough, you can be awoken to the laughing and talking of drunk people at 2 am. Not a place to stay unless... More

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. We understand how important a quiet environment is and apologize for the trains that run behind the hotel. Due to us being in between 2 intersections they are required to blow the horn. Your feedback helps us prevent situations such as this in the future. We hope you will... More

After making phone reservations with a girl who was obviously bewildered, we should have just cancelled. But we didn't. We were part of a block of rooms reserved for a wedding. Upon arrival, we were told the room rate we reserved at was not what we would be paying. We were told that we got the last two rooms available... More

computer and printer worked downstairs. Breakfast was pretty good, the front desk guy knows how to cook the sausage. Rooms were fine. Complementary Breakfast, coffee. Complementary Good cookies available all the time. Sometimes complementary fruits. Apparently there are train tracks near the hotel, but it did not wake me up. Staff was helpful. There were plenty of outlets in the... More

Wow, for as much as you are charge for a room, you would expect a good night sleep, not the case with this hotel. Room clean and adequate, staff friendly and know that the trains are a nightmare. Breakfast was hot and good.

I understand your frustration with the trains that run behind the hotel. sometimes they can be worse than others but if you request a room on the opposite side of the railroad tracks most people don't realize the train is back there. I hope when your travels bring you back to Northfield you do give our hotel a try again.... More

Still not impressed. The pool temperature was very comfortable, the hot tub a bit too hot (all 7 of us couldn't stand it for long) and there is still no fitness center. Not that I was expecting them to fabricate one since our last stay. LOL. The train is annoying but we've slept in noisier hotels. Breakfast was good-well stocked... More

The hotel is a bit long in the tooth. The staff was pleasant. The rooms a little dingy. The beds just barely comfortable. About what I suspected. All this is ok...until the freight trains start rolling through all night. 4 in our evening from 11pm to 6 am. And since you can toss a rock to the tracks from the... More

We stayed here for parents weekend at Carleton College. The Inn is a short walk across a busy road to the center of town and the campus - so definitely the best location for that, you don't need your car once you get there. Place was fine, room was clean and modern, breakfast included was standard fare and more than... More

I wouldn't stay here again unless it was the only hotel available in Northfield. The AmericInn is better in all respects - nicer rooms, nicer breakfast and quieter. The main issue with the Country Inn is definitely the noise from the trains. We were on the quieter side of the building, but still heard the trains throughout the night. When... More

I'm sorry to hear that your stay wasn't pleasant. Unfortunately there are train tracks that run behind the hotel and when staying in the front of the building they are less noticeable. We are between two intersections and they are required by law to blow the horn which can be annoying at times especially when your trying to sleep. The... More
