We stayed here for the long weekend and have to say that the stay was good, but not as good as it could have been. Pros: Staff is helpul when asking for directions or places to go; close to dance clubs and restaurants; beds are very comfortable Cons: No ice on fourth or third floor, and had to go down... more

I wasn't sure what I was in for after reading the TA reviews for this place ... and I'm still not sure what to make of it! GOOD STUFF: nice clean pool, whirlpool and sauna...free USA today..free wireless...convenient to convention centre... friendly staff in the bar BAD STUFF: the front desk staff is SO inconsistent! A couple were friendly and... more

Visited Minneapolis again this past weekend, and once again stayed at the Best Western Downtown (Normandy). The last time I stayed we had a street-side room and it was a bit noisy. This time we had a parking lot side suite and it was almost completely silent. The suite was great quite large... sofa/hide-a-bed, two comfy chairs, coffee table etc.... more

Every year for my birthday my brothers and father take a 7 hour drive from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada to see a Minnesota Twins game. April 2008 will be our 8th year of this tradition. We always book our stay at the Normandy. Everyone there is always very helpful, super nice and attentive to our every need. It is in... more

I was dreading my business trip on a Sunday night to snowy Minneapolis from my home in sunny Arizona, but the intimate Best Western Normandy Inn seemed nearly as warm and cozy as my own home. Being a single traveler on a short turn-around trip, the friendly, attentive staff was just what I needed. Upon my arrival I was greated... more

For $120 a night, you would expect: warm swimming pool with adequete room temperature and lighting free parking "was charged a $14 for parking "not mentioned until I checked out" Pay per view TV Accurate billing "was charged an extra $100" When I tried to call to get straight, hard to get a hold of anyone. No continental breakfast Very... more

The Normandy Inn & Suites is a full service, urban hotel, and is a great value for hotel guests who value our downtown location. As is the case with all downtown hotels, there is a parking fee. With only a rare exception, our guests find our parking fee of only $7.00 per night to be acceptable (it's the least expensive...

When we checked in a New Year's Eve, the clerk presented us with a list a reasons the owner would throw us out. We considered leaving at this point but unfortunately checked in. Our group spent $250 in the hotel restaurant. We left for the evening. Upon return, the owner held a line of people at the door while he... more

This comment does a disservice to Trip Advisor users by portraying enhanced hotel security as a negative quality. The Normandy Inn is located in Downtown Minneapolis, near the City's primary entertainment district. Naturally, we enhance security measures on New Years's Eve, especially in light of our proximity to the night club scene. One of our security enhancements is to require...

I stayed at the Normandy for four nights. Though I didn't plan on spending my time on watching TV all day, it would've been nice to get reception for at least basic networks. After the second night, a light bulb burned out, which I requested to have replaced, and never was. Also, the day before check-out, I was asked by... more

We just returned from a 4 day stay at the Normandy Inn & Suites. The recently remodeled King Suite was perfect for our family of 4. The California King bed with it's 4 large fluffy pillows in the master bedroom provided a wonderful place to linger over coffee and the Sunday paper. The master bath, with shower only, offered an... more
