My wife, 3 year old daughter, and I spend 2 nights at the hotel in June. As a long-term platinum, I called the hotel directly before arrival and was able to secure one of the suites that were part of the original depot. Our suite - 294 - was quite large - with a full living room, a large bathroom... more

I have been staying at The Depot once a week for two years now on business. Minneapolis is swimming in great hotels, and The Depot is in the top five. Being within two blocks of the river is great because it provides easy access to the river parks, the "North East" (the other side of the river), and the main... more

Pros: - Clean, newly renovated rooms - Superb location in downtown Minneapolis - Fun attractions with the waterpark and pool accommodations - Historical site and a lot of "character" to the hotel Cons: - Not a budget stay - Limited in-house restaurant menu selection - I had a corner room, so TV was a bit missplaced I would highly recommend... more

For a weekend stay with a 3 and 6 year old, this hotel was perfect. The water park was clean, not crowded and had enough things to do while not being too large. It is conveniently located 3 blocks from the light rail to the airport and Mall of America, so that we didn't need a car at all. It... more

From check-in to check-out the staff was the best I've experienced. Breakfast buffet was great. the bar staff at night was friendly and helpful with questins about hotel and sights in the area. Double queen room was a bit tight, but really weren't in the room except for sleeping. The historical train/depot decor of the hotel was a big hit... more

Having now stayed in three different hotels through bidding on Priceline -- The Hyatt, The Millenium and The Depot -- I have to post this review to express how especially nice The Depot is. The other hotels are all right, but not in the way that makes a visitor go out of their way to write a review. The heated... more

We stayed at The Depot Renaissance Hotel for a one-night getaway with our two kids. We took advantage of the "Waterpark and Stay for Breakfast Package." The room included heated, underground parking, 4 waterpark passes and breakfast for two adults. Kids under 12 eat free. We checked in Saturday and had a great time at the Waterpark Saturday night. The... more

This hotel was a much better experience than I expected. We stayed here with friends while in town to go to a Vikings game. The location is great. Its just outside of downtown and only about 4 blocks from the Metrodome. Great tailgating and bars in the area. Would highly recommend. The price for the location is excellent. more

My family stayed at the Depot with their New Year's Eve Party Package. Although the price was steep ($249), for New Year's Eve, our 2 subsequent evenings were only $79 which made it worth our while. Also, the $249 included passes to the waterpark for 4, passes to the indoor ice skating rink for 4, parking, a continental breakfast on... more

Nice place. Very clean and the weekend price was great. The hotel is connected to the Residence Inn but separating the two is a fun water park - not real big - but very fun. more
