We booked a room for a night out away from the kids. We had happy memories of staying here the night we got married about 15 years ago. What a letdown. The decor has not been updated and shows many signs of wear. The man at the front desk seemed much too casual and disinterested for a place that charges... More

The Nicollet Island Inn is a small, boutique style hotel located on an island in the Mississippi River directly across from downtown Minneapolis. Biking trails and a bus run right by the hotel, and the Metro train to Mall of America is a eight or nine block walk. The hotel is also conveniently located near restaurants, and has its own... My wife and I stayed here on our wedding night after our reception at Nicollet Island Pavilion. The staff was outstanding and the property is beautiful. Pros: Gorgeous, historic property, fantastic staff, ideal location, and great restaurant/bar. Cons: Room was warmer than I prefer even with the thermostat turned all the way down, mattress was firmer than I prefer, pretty... More

We stayed here the night of the Torchlight 5K, it was a great central location to watch our daughter cross the finish line and then head over to the Torchlight Parade. We were excited to stay here because it is rather iconic in Minneapolis and we expected nothing but the best! Needless to say we were a little disappointed, the... More

Pros: Great location on island close to good neighborhood and downtown. Good food and drink at nice bar and restaurant... only had b'fast personally. Nice staff Beautiful setting Cons: Old stone inn long in the tooth. Rooms traditional with squeaky bed & heavy drapes. Floors uneven and slanted in places. Bathroom fixtures old. Toilet barely flushes. Exhaust fan and light... More

This historical building has a small number of rooms. My corner room was spacious but dated. Lighting was dim and there were few outlets. Fortunately the nice front desk person loaned me plug strip. Overall the hotel is charming and the staff quite friendly. The best part is that the hotel is right on the river. You can walk or... More

We did not want the hassle of parking and traffic to view the Minneapolis Aquatennial Fireworks. We chose the Inn because of its location. It was a great choice because we walked out of the hotel, across the small parking lot, up a very short distance to Hennepin Avenue bridge where we had a wonderful full sky view of the... More

This was our first time in the hotel, it is a gorgeous and pleasant place to stay. You feel like traveling back in time with the decoration and the amenities. The rooms are clean and neat, we had the vest view in the corner premier room. The restaurant and the food extraordinary. We will come back for sure, just wonderful!

Stayed here for a one night business trip and wanted something a bit different from the standard. This fit the bill! Very quaint, on the river, with a lot of authentic historic touches. Room was clean, spacious, and bright. Bed has a sleep number mattress (not a big fan personally, but it was comfortable and clean). Staff was very friendly... More

Note: We have not stayed at the inn. This is a review of the restaurant. Nicollet Island Inn is a century-old inn on an island in the Mississippi in downtown Minneapolis. The moment you enter the charming old island inn the city seems far away. In the quiet restaurant every table overlooks the river. Food is gourmet quality and service... More
