The Hilton Garden Inn is very clean and inexpensive but a little out of the way for a downtown hotel. The bars and restaurants on Nicollet Mall are at least a five minute walk away, which isn't bad but there's nothing within a block or two from the hotel in case you were lazy or the weather sucked. This Garden Inn is new and a short walk to the Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC). A great place to stay if you have a focus there.
