This was a cross country trip to drop the kids in Boulder and we decided to make a swing north to visit friends of my daughter who moved there last year. When I made the reservation I did not realize that Wales House was right across the street from where these friends lived which made it VERY convenient ! The... More

My story for staying at Wales House might be a bit different from other previous travellers - it's quite a long story. I'm currently a PhD student at UMN, and I actually live quite close to Wales House. My apartment had serious noise problem that is not taken care of properly, therefore I had to seek for a quiet and... More

If you are looking for a place to stay while you visit Minneapolis, look no further. The coziness of the victorian-styled Wales house makes you feel in a place similar to home. Very nice and attentive administration. Also breakfast is extra yummy. More

The Wales House is a nice guesthouse that offers a quite and comfortable stay for a very reasonable price! My partner and I were only there for a weekend, but many we met here were staying for weeks or months. The owners offered to help us with luggage, showed the house and our room. He also was willing to answer... More

The WalesHouse is an incredibly warm and comfortable place near the University, which is very convenient for visiting researchers like me. The owners are very nice and will make you feel at home! Highly recommended. More

Stayed at the Wales House for a week during a conference in May 07 - a very pleasant change from downtown. The location is excellent (on a good bus route and near lots of bars and restaurants in Dinkytown), the place is very clean, the service is good and the price is superb. The only thing the owners ask is... More

My husband and I have just returned from five days in Minneapolis, and I cannot recommend the Wales House highly enough. Located in one of the city's best neighborhoods -- a college area directly adjacent to the University of Minnesota -- the Wales House is convenient to public transit and a great selection of restaurants, cafes, and bookstores. The B&B... More

Okay if you like taking your shoes off at the front door and climbing in your stocking feet several sets of stairs with all of your luggage to your room. Don't count on anyone making your bed for you the next morning--let alone change your bedding. They don't. You can, however, eat cold cereal and store-brand bagels in the basement... More

Wales House is a fantastic place to stay, conveniently located for the University, public transport and Dinkytown (which has second hand bookshops, bars, a cinema and great restaurants - including the world's best breakfast at Al's). The atmosphere is homely and the communal areas are comfortable, with plenty of books, information about the local area and a couple of televisions.... More

Extremely comfortable lodging. Free wi-fi available throughout the house. Large common areas for hanging out and meeting others. The Carvers are very friendly and considerate proprietors. Their dog, Sky, is beautiful and sweet. Conveniently located to Dinkytown (a quick walk to Al's Breakfast), and about a 40 minute walk from downtown across the Stone Arch bridge (and a 5 minute...
