The Minneapolis International Hostel is the cheapest place to stay in Minnneapolis. I stayed there twice, first in Nov 2013, and now in Jan 2015. I was in the 15 bed male dorm. At this time of the year it is possible that you will have the room for yourself, as a 'private room', or there will only be one... More

My daughter stayed one night in a dorm in this hostel and was charged for more than 3 nights ($160). Unfortunately she did not read her credit card statement and paid it (yes, lesson learned, I hope!). She also reported that the hostel was "filthy"--and she is not someone who notices that kind of thing. There was mold throughout the... More

My single room for $50 unexpectedly included a private bath which is unusual for a single room in a hostel. Its probably due to being off-season for hostel traveler-types. The place was practically empty. I only saw 3 other people. The linens are clean. Mattress was saggy but the shower had lots and lots of hot water and the towel... More

I booked online for my partner and I to stay in a private room at the Minneapolis International Hostel for 3 nights. Cost was $90 per person per night so $180 a night. Other reviewers have written that 'being cheap' lessened the pain of staying here, but that was not the case for us. Upon arrival we were presented with... More

I've stayed twice at this hostel, getting a private room. One time I shared the bathroom with a men's dorm - awkward. The staff is not helpful. There's supposed to be breakfast fixings - but they run out. It is the cheapest room this close to downtown Minneapolis - but you get what you pay for.

The location is good but everything else for the price (about $100 for a room with full bed and shared bath) was unimpressive. This is doubly unfortunate because with just a little more effort and not too much cost e.g decent sheets and mattress pad, touch up on paint) it could be much nicer. The whole place has a general... The hostel is in a good location, and comfortable enough. Bathrooms are a bit scare, and in the three days I spent there not I don't think they were cleaned. Also, there's not really any information available on the city and the things to do there. OK place, but not the best.

Sometimes a downtown drunken night calls for a hostel stay. This place does the job just fine. And there's something energetic, youthful, and fun about hostels. Although I do recommend this hostel, it could be cleaned a little better. I've read all the other reviews and do see all their points of view as valid. I just want to stress... More

This was my first time staying in a hostel, so I didn't know what to expect. As the other reviews say, cleanliness and staff friendliness are the two weakest areas. Linens and towels are provided and have been washed, but are quite worn. I stayed in the 15-bed male dorm and the bathroom always stunk, but the sleeping arrangements served... More

You can't ask for a better location to stay at and the prices are very reasonable, but EW! I booked a double room with private bath and our tub was filled with unknown amounts or hair, blood and mucus which readily clogged the drain. The shower head was useless as well. The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows and... More
