I just stayed at the W to celebrate my 30th birthday and I was very happy with the comfort and staff. The hotel has neat modern décor and our room was comfortable, clean and had a great view of the city. I really liked the waterfall showerhead and comfy king size bed. Our rate also included valet parking and a... More

I spent two weeks in a row in this hotel on a business trip. My room was Clean and the mattress was comfortable. In fact, I think the whole building is renovated. The service is good. I opted for infrequent room cleaning that is supposed to give me 500 points a day each day of not receiving the room cleaning... More

I booked the W Foshay a few weeks ago in a late spring snowstorm. My son and I had a very early train departure about 10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis and wanted to be closer than the far suburbs where we live in case of traffic in the snow. I booked the Fantastic Suite non-refundable rate on the Starwood website... More

Stayed over three nights recently, on a combined family/business trip. The pluses: the rate was a great, discounted rate I found on Orbitz, my room was dead quiet, and the blackout curtains are 100% effective. But the dim disco lounge lighting in the lobby/reception area is matched by the dim in-room lighting. They aren't counting on anyone doing much reading... More

This is among my favorite hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff and the customer service are impeccable and the decor is really fun and cool--20s art deco complete with brightly colored neon lights in a historic building. The room was spacious and very comfortable and attractive. The restaurant (Manny's) has delicious food, although it's quite expensive. As a W... More

Great times when we were kids in the 50's. The Foshay Tower was the tallest building in downtown Minneapolis and as kids we would buy large balsa wood airplane and go up to the tower and sail them into the air. We would watch them fly miles and miles and they would land as far as south Minneapolis.

I regularly visit Minneapolis for leisure getaways and although I've stayed at other hotels downtown, the Foshay W Hotel is decidedly my favorite! The location is perfect, the staff is ever helpful and the concierge staff invariably makes me feel like I'm "coming home" each time I arrive (even with hugs!). The hotel has two "happening" bars (I'm a nut... More

The Foshay was recommended to me because of its beautiful art deco style and history. The Foshay is so beautiful and classy, with an interesting history. I had never been to Minneapolis before, so I had a few questions before I arrived, which were nicely answered by the Whatever, Whenever staff. The Whatever, Whenever staff was also a great help... Attended the Grand Red Tasting that is held there. This was my 2nd time staying at the hotel & everything was top notch. This time we had a suite & the other person in the room said that all the rooms at the W are so nice it's hard to appreciate a suite because every room feels like a suite.
