This used to be our hotel of choice for a golf and gambling holiday but we had a very poor review a couple of years ago and decided it just wasn't worth it....BUT because we love the area and golf courses, we decided to give it another chance..... We were pleasantly surprised and are happy to give this hotel and... More

I stayed one night on business. Check-in was easy and the staff were all very professional. My room was clean and comfortable. I slept really well. The electronics were a little weird: the alarm clock was plugged into a switched outlet (so it turned on/off when I turned the lights on/off) and I had to fiddle behind the TV to... More

recently stayed at the casino. The casinos was very smokey. the food was okay. The whispering wind restaurant is the place to eat. The buffet was okay but a little pricey and some of the food was lukewarm. The beds were very high and you need a little step to get up and down.

Only went to this place for an event so no choice where to stay. When checking in the clerk never explained where our room was and where the best place to park was so it was a challenge to find it ourselves. The room was ok but everything needs a good renovation in the "new" section. Unless there was another... More

Travelled with a bus tour in April for a 2 night stay. Casino and restaurants were what I expected. It's a Casino after all. There is a smoke free section in the casino but quite smokey overall. We stayed in the Stardust section of the hotel. Our first wasn't great because we kept being awoken to the strong scent of... More

Stayed at STC a few weeks ago. Our room was clean and comfortable - but not even remotely close to any slight bit of luxury. Hotel is no-frills. The casino is so smoky you feel as though your eyes received a shot of pepper spray. Your clothes stink all day. If you're going to allow smoking in the casino -... More

Room was good, microwave and refridge, beds comfortable. Telephone and a light didn't work in the room. They fixed it after first night. Wasn't real crazy about the soap dispensers in the room instead of small bottles. Rooms had a keurig single coffee maker. Can be a long walk to casino and restaurants.

We recently spent 3 nights in an average room (2 double beds) and I have to say that many of the reviews on TA regarding the Shooting Star Casino Hotel are a little on the mean side. In fact, since we had not been here before, I read the reviews and told my wife to be prepared for a not... More

My eighty-one year old mother and I stayed at the Shooting Star Casino & Hotel in Mahnomen, Minnesota for two nights starting on Saturday, February 14th, 2015. When making our reservations online, we requested a room on the top floor, away from any noise, and we were given a Deluxe room on the first (basement) floor of the Main Lodge... More
