Room was good, microwave and refridge, beds comfortable. Telephone and a light didn't work in the room. They fixed it after first night. Wasn't real crazy about the soap dispensers in the room instead of small bottles. Rooms had a keurig single coffee maker. Can be a long walk to casino and restaurants.

We recently spent 3 nights in an average room (2 double beds) and I have to say that many of the reviews on TA regarding the Shooting Star Casino Hotel are a little on the mean side. In fact, since we had not been here before, I read the reviews and told my wife to be prepared for a not... More

My eighty-one year old mother and I stayed at the Shooting Star Casino & Hotel in Mahnomen, Minnesota for two nights starting on Saturday, February 14th, 2015. When making our reservations online, we requested a room on the top floor, away from any noise, and we were given a Deluxe room on the first (basement) floor of the Main Lodge... More

We have stayed here often, as part of a casino tour package. The hotel consists of an older section and a new one (Stardust), but the new one is over a decade old now. Still, the rooms always are clean and in good shape. The pool and hot tub are large and, during the day are quiet. However, many of... More

Stayed here for a family event. I came 900 miles and was excited for my stay. The room was clean however extremely dated and in need of some general upkeep. It was a non smoking room however it was very obvious that it had not been in the past. Bed was comfy & shower was hot but couldn't understand the... More

I've been to this hotel multiple times and generally enjoyed my stay. However the past two visits an annoying thing happened. Both times, in the middle of the night, the soap dispenser in the washroom fell off the wall. The first time is was the one that was in the shower, dispensing body wash and shampoo. It fell down into... More

This whole site needs improvement from its hotel to its restaurants to its casino. The hotel beds are so small they are barely over a twin size. We waited 1.5 hours for cold food that had to be returned. Also if you can't tolerate cigarette smoke, don't even bother. It's ridiculously smokey.

On January 6 I booked a romance package at the Shooting Star. I was very proud of myself for planning such a special day for our first Valentines as a married couple. King Jacuzzi Suite, bottle of Chanpagne, 1 hr couples massage and $20 off dinner for $200. On February 11 I called to confirm the 11am massage time and... More

Had a great time, went on boxing day to relax after Christmas. Service was great, staff are always friendly. Keys didn't work on the rooms so my husband and neighbour had to wake me at midnight to get in but otherwise it was great. In Canada you don't get to gamble, drink and smoke all at once so it's a... Wow, this place is a pieced together hotel/casino. First and last time we will be there. The main hotel is very far away the regular rooms. So get used to a long walk thru the skyways, convention center to get to the pool/casino/food areas. Pool was pretty good except the decking around the pools were filthy, in need of a... More
