If your a girl and might get your period don't stay here or you will end up paying an extra $500. 00 if you stain the sheets. I felt this place was trying to take us for a ride. They charged us extra costs during our stay and alls it took was some laundry soap to fix the problem. They... more

You can hardly get rooms closer to Minnesota's North Shore! Our lakeview room provided scenic vistas over Lake Superior. A terrific waterfront area, with picnic tables, swings, fire ring and beach chairs, gives you a front-row seat for viewing spectacular wave action, boats and waterfowl. Accommodations were comfortable and distinctive -- a great spot to relax after a day of... more

Thompsonite Beach was ideal for someone like me who wanted to be close to the lake and hiking in Cascade River S.P. as well as being close to Grand Marais and the fine cuisine it has. It was a perfect balance. Lee, my host, was knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. They have some fine Thompsonite specimens on display... more

A friend and I stayed at Thomsonite Beach Inn for 5 nights. We enjoyed the location, near Lutsen, Grand Marais, Grand Portage, and right on Lake Superior. The shoreline has a wonderful lava-flow formation, with a couple of benches and grills available. The waves crash on the shore and the views are great. The grounds are conducive to restful reading,... more

My partner and I spent 2 nights at Thomsonite Inn. We loved the location and Lee's charm. There is nothing like winding down around the fireplace looking over the lake. Another beautiful beach is located just .5 miles north and made for a lovely morning walk! The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. more

My husband and I along with our adult son and daughter and two grandchildren enjoyed our 2 day stay. Loved the kitchen, complete with every thing we needed to prepare breakfast. We had two separate bedrooms plus a sofa bed. Lots of fun climbing on rocks at the beach, s'mores on the beach campfires, and very clean. We got a few grocery... more

We stayed only for a single night on July 2nd in unit 6. We were a party of 6 (4 adults + 2kids). Because of the holiday weekend, most of the places were not willing to take a reservation for a single night. The owners of Thomsonite Beach inn and suites were nice to take the reservation for a single... more

Stayed 2 nights at Thomsonite on our Lodge-to-Lodge hiking trip to the Superior Hiking Trail. The accomodations were charming, 2 bedroom suite with lake view and even a little deck overlooking the lake. Breakfast was included and Scott, our host, is a great cook-excellent pancakes. He packed us a nutritious and delicious bag lunch to take on our hike. Hostess,... more

My girlfriend and I booked a room here for the weekend through the Lutsen Mountains Ski Package, since this room was priced fairly higher than a regular motel like Super 8, I had somewhat high expectations. We were coming from the North, from Canada We had a great deal of trouble locating the place. The large lit sign only faces... more

My husband and I just returned from a late fall stay at the Thompsonite Beach Inn. It was a small anniversary trip, and we were looking for something within the state that was reasonably priced but in a nice location (right off of Lake Superior). This was a GREAT get-away. There are limited reviews on this hotel, but we decided... more
