I'm disappointed with our recent stay at Caribou Highlands. We stayed 18-20 August. I emailed the below concerns to info@caribouhighlands.com and also shared the feedback on the surveymonkey request, but I have not received any response. I sent the message to the manager who lists her contact info on other trip advisor responses. For the last week, after sending those... More

We're certain this resort has had a long history of keeping Quality at the forefront. However, with the property starting to show its age--including a lot of little annoyances we experienced like drippy ceilings, dirty windows, very dim room lighting, loud noise from upper lodge floors, malodorous rooms (within non-smoking accommodations), skimpy room amenities--this all adds up to NOT a... We enjoy going up to Lutsen for a quick ski weekend and have done so many times. The ski in / ski out aspect of the Caribou Highlands is what makes us go there. The indoor pool is nice for my kids. The restaurant is okay - we spend more time eating in the rooms (which have full kitchens). I... More

Our family has stayed at Caribou Highlands three times. Each stay has been memorable for our family. Here is a list of the things we enjoyed at Caribou: clean condos and town homes with modern decorating, hiking trails, tennis and basketball, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fire pit with smores, Moguls restaurant with excellent food and reasonable prices, a hip... The overall experience was ok - the room was clean and well described - the price was what we felt a bit high for what you get - but not bad -- BUT -- when we went to check out -- the sales tax and service fees were almost 20% of your room per night. SO - a $210.00 a... More

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us here at Caribou Highlands Lodge. We are happy you found our accommodations to meet your expectations. In regards to the taxes and fees, Cook County has a 7.875% Sales Tax and a 4% bed tax. As you mentioned Caribou does also have a 7.25% Resort Fee. This resort fee helps to... More

Great location, tons of activities and great hikes, biking, options within minutes to hours depending on how far you want to drive. The resort, however, is run down. The lodge condos need some repairs. Bedding, pull ouch bed in couch, etc... Need replacing. Holes in screens. Cub bards in kitchen falling apart. Was probably adorable a few years ago. I... More

We have been coming to Caribou Highlands for over a decade. Wish they had a loyalty program! Just returned from a weeks summer family vaca. Stayed in the newer poplar ridge homes. The good: love the location, the poplar ridge 2 bedroom, (by far the nicest newest lodging option)! the live music wed nights at moguls, and the outdoor pool.... More

Before writing my review, I read some of the others. Here are some things I believe people considering this resort should know when booking here: - There are five distinct types of accommodations in this development. 1. Lodge rooms are like a discount hotel. Not well furnished and small. Review comments tend to be negative for these. I have never... More

The room was a great value since there were many amenities and the room looked like it had some recent updates. We stayed at the lodge portion of property. They provided complimentary dvds, games, mountain bikes, books, tennis, volleyball, basketball, hot tub & 2 pools. The restaurant was very good. Definitely recommend the walleye cakes - the best I have... More
