We heard of this lodge by a random search, but WOW it is amazing! We loved every minute of it, from the lodge owner's welcome on the first night, to the people we met, to the sweet cozy cabin we inhabited, to the AMAZING single track trails among the pines of the superior national forest. the snow was wonderful and... Thanks for all the WOW and AMAZING! Were nothing if not cozy and friendly. We've had 21 straight years of snow to ski and hopefully many more to come. Thanks again, Andy More

Everything an outdoor (silent sports) enthusiast needs to re-charge. Extremely well-marked and maintained trails, excellent hearty home-cooked food, tranquility, cozy lodge. This resort appeals to my sense of balance, it is not luxurious or wasteful and not too rudimentary or basic. It feels just right. Easy-peasy (beautiful) drive up, parked the car, unloaded the skis/snowshoes and did no more driving.... More

This was a great place for our family to gather for a get together. The Log Home was big enough for our family which consisted of, grandparent, three parents and 4 grandchildren and their significant others. The space was plenty for all of us without feeling cramped. We cooked some wonderful meals in the well stocked kitchen, had a nice... More

Thanks so much for the feedback! Glad to hear it was a good match for you. I'm typing this before breakfast and my stomach is growling at the mention of raspberry pancakes. Thanks again for your business. -Andy More

This is a spacious well-appointed cabin nestled on a quiet lake. We were three generations traveling together and we really appreciated having space to spread out. The dishwasher and laundry make it easy to travel with a large party and not worry about constantly cleaning up. The lake is gorgeous and feels quite secluded because the few houses that are... Our family of five had a wonderful vacation at the Superior Log Hideaway. The cabin was great. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the kids loved sleeping in the loft. But the best part was the location. We were all a little nervous about what we were getting into coming down the mile long driveway at night... More

The location is exactly as described on this site - it is very secluded (down 1.5 miles on an unpaved road) with very few people around - so soothing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city! The cabin itself is well maintained, clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely sauna! The kids loved sleeping in... More

Thanks so much for the detailed review. Glad you enjoyed the remoteness of the cabin. Not for everyone, but ideal for relaxing and taking in the quiet, unspoiled outdoors. I agree the lower bedroom can get a little damp smelling depending on rain and humidity. Sometimes it is and other times not. Sorry if you found it unsatisfactory during your... More

What a beautiful place to stay! You can smell the pines the minute you get out of the car! The lake is so peaceful and quiet, and even the road going by it has very little traffic. We went out and did the "tourist" thing both days, but would have been happier just staying there. If you want a place... More

Hi Kathy. Thanks so much for your review and staying with us. Sometimes when you are so close to something, you can lose sight of what made it so special to you. Thanks for reminding me. We're definitely not fancy, but peaceful wilderness we've got covered. Glad you enjoyed! - Andy More

We rented two cabins for a family gathering and had a great time at the National Forest Lodge. The cabins were big and well stocked, plenty of firewood for the firepit and we loved having the canoes and paddle boat available. There is a nice swimming beach and trails at Flathorn Lake just 2-3 miles away.

You couldn't ask for a more idyllic setting. The cabin is awesome. The lake, too, was absolutely beautiful. Though a few things to be aware of: if you're using the layout drawing from their website to plan sleeping arrangements know that the basement room is all but unusable. It has two single beds (as seen in the drawing) but being... More

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience at our Superior Log Hideaway. I agree the lower level bedroom is noisy with the humidifier. Glad you turned it off and got some sleep. No argument about the road either. The remote private location means this forest road doesn't get much maintenance and the WIFI is weak. Not... More

Beyond excellent! We came with a large group and rented the Superior Hideaway and the Big Pines Lodge. Both exceeded our expectations immensely! Great for kids!
