Wonderful, clean room which was pool side. Stayed there twice, going and coming on our trip. Close to shopping and restaurants.Had a great breakfast for which we were given a coupon. Waitress in restaurant was very friendly and efficient.

There were 7 of us here for the night. The rooms were cold, the thermostats had no effect on the temp, the beds were old and lumpy, there were cigarette burns in the sheets, the halls smelled of ancient cigarette smoke, the reception was surly. On the other hand, the restaurant was very good. The service was friendly, the food... More

We checked in late with 2 dogs and there was no problem. Though the staff member checking us in was not overly friendly they were efficient and the clean comfortable room made up for it. The pool was warm and quiet. The breakfast was included and fantastic. I would defiantly stay again.

After reading all of the reviews I was expecting a dump to be honest. It is in fact an outdated hotel, but my room was spotless, and the rates were reasonable. A lot less then the fancier hotels. Frankly, we were there only to sleep, and let the kids swim. The rest of the time was spent with family outside of... More

We didn't stay here, but went for dinner as it was next door to our beautiful hotel, i.e. convenience. As we like a more relaxed atmosphere we like to eat in the bar. The food was marginal at best. Over coated deep-fried veggies and bagged greens on our dinner salad. Pretty sure bottled dressing as well. The other patrons were... More

Very dated hotel. The air conditioning/ ventilation system was very noisy and annoying making it hard to sleep. The TVs are the old fashioned giants. They give you a set of keys -keys- exterior and interior for your room. The bedspreads and carpet were gross. I was glad we only stayed for one evening. We did have breakfast there and... More

We arrived in Grand Rapids late and were very tired after a full day of travel. Unfortunately we weren't the only ones in Grand Rapids that night...the first hotel we stopped at was full and they checked with 3 others before finding Sawmill Inn had rooms open. I'm glad i couldn't check the tripadvisor reports for this hotel or I... More

Horrible, horrible service. We came to eat, we cleaned our own table and took our own order to give to the waiter. Won't ever be coming back again. Ever. Didn't stay in the rooms but the restaurant was rotten.

Wow! The following review MIGHT show some sarcasm. The room was beautifully updated, in 1970 or earlier. The beds, though rock hard, appeared to inspire a nostalgic feel with the bed spread covers that both looked like they were bought at a garage sale AND felt as though they were meant to torture those unlucky enough to sleep within them.... This is the biggest dump around. Many other nice places to stay in Grand Rapids. You don't need to waste your money here unless you like 30 year old beds and staff that is unpleasant. The owner's done seem to want to keep this landmark in business.
