We stayed at the Hollow Rock Resort, which is run by the Grand Portage Lodge. The cabin we stayed in was #5, Moose, which is on the end of the peninsula and surrounded on three sides by Lake Superior...you couldn't ask for a nicer view. The cabin was very clean and well arranged, so despite the smaller size, it felt... More

The rooms were clean and had every amenity we could've expected. The beds were more than comfortable! There is a restaurant next door (nothing to write home about) which is very convenient based on location. And free casino money for a little night time entertainment. We enjoyed our quaint stay at the casino.

If you call in person to book a room, be ready to say "excuse me, could you repeat that?". I understand that the place is understaffed, however when I called to make a reservation, the person on the other end barely spoke above a whisper, and in very poor English. She might as well have been saying.."yeah,yeah,yeah...whatta ya want?!". She... More

We thought we were going to a town when going to Grand Portage, only to find out that the Casino is the only place to eat & sleep. Our room was very comfortable, clean & quiet. The price was average at $95.00 a night. After checking into our room, we went to the restaurant in the casino. It took forever... More

I would recommend buying the Wisdom card for $20 because there is a lot of savings on the card. Room rates really change depending on a weekend and a week day. The rooms were adequate with a coffee maker and a small refrigerator. We ate at the Island restaurant on a quiet Sunday night. It took the hostess 10 minutes... More

I chose to go to the Island View Restaurant within the Grand Portage Lodge and Casino for lunch today. I was incredibly disappointed by my experience at this restaurant. The service was terrible. It took 15 minutes after being seated at a table for a server to come by. She did not apologize for the wait, and was very abrupt... More

visited with husband's cousin. Pretty drive, great views of the lake. Convenient from pigeon falls. Waters were calm and clear that day. My fried walleye had no taste, but we were hungry. Sweet potato fries were great. Restaurant ran out of their cabbage rolls special. Overall so so.

I was a little hesitant about booking a room here after reading some of the reviews about it posted by others that stayed there in the past. We had nothing but a great experience during our stay. We found the people to be very helpful and knowledgable about the area. The room was good, nothing great or fancy but, clean... More

The casino is fun. Lots of different types of slots if you're feeling lucky. The Restaurant is average but the view of the lake makes up for it. The smoking inside the building ruins it as the air is stale.

We stayed here on our way to Isle Royale National park. There are very limited choices if you have an early morning ferry. This motel is convenient to the ferry. The casino is extremely smoky. They stop serving food early. Limited options at the snack bar. The bar in the casino also closes early. You have to get drinks in... More
