We spent one night at the Super 8 Golden Valley after attending a concert at the Excel Energy Center in St. Paul. The location was excellent for our situation and it offered easy access, just off I394 about 1/4 mile. Service was excellent; staff was cordial and helpful. The room, hallways, lobby and breakfast areas were all very clean with... more

Decent location, it took us less than 10 minutes to drive downtown. No problem with noise inside or outside of the hotel. Bed was fairly comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and drained well. Room appeared clean. Several nice bonuses. First of all there was a fridge and microwave in our room which I had not expected, but was... more

I recently stayed four nights at this Super 8. I chose this property because of its convenient location to Downtown Minneapolis (less than 10 minutes away, unless there are traffic problems), its price, and the feedback from other travelers. I found the property to be very well maintained. The lobby and breakfast area were inviting and attractive, and the grounds... more

Been here before, so we kind of knew the "lay of the land". This time we were in town for medical appointments at the University of Minnesota. Stayed four nights and it was wonderful as usual. However, this time we encountered someting we never did on previous visits .. room problems. None of it was their fault, but the pipe... more

We usually stay downtown when visiting Minneapolis but chose this Super 8 this time around to save money. It's half the cost of a hotel downtown and when you consider the free parking and continental breakfast (with "make your own" waffles) it's even a greater deal! It is a very short and easy drive from downtown. Here are some negatives... more

I normally do not stay at the super 8 chain and this hotel was very surprising. Front Desk was very professional. The location is pretty good with plenty of eats near by. Easy access to all highways. The housekeeping did a very good job. The walls are a bit thin and bathroom small is my only negative more

Came to see my grandparents. Holiday inn Express was booked. Decided to stay at Super 8 down the street. I was surprised. For less money I got room better than at Holday Inn Express. Wireless internet, fitness center, breakfast was top of the line. Couldn't ask for more! Friendly Staff!, Thank you guys! Looking forward to see you again! more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the super 8 motel in golden valley in the king jacuzzi room for new years... I would definitely not stay there again though. The room was a very nice room, there was a big bed and everything appeared to be pleasant until I looked into the jacuzzi which had three live boxelder bugs crawling... more

I recently (October, '05) spent five nights at the Super 8 in Golden Valley on a business-related trip my employer wouldn't reimburse. Since I wanted to economize, I tried this Super 8. I usually stay in more business-class hotels in the Minneapolis area, but I was truly impressed by this property. My king room was very spacious. While the decor... more
