My wife and I spent two nights in Faribault for a little getaway. Our original intention was to snowshoe nearby and we found this gem while searching on the internet. We are first time B and B'ers... and I am afraid we will never go back to regular hotels after this experience. Tami and Doug were excellent hosts, and I... More

We enjoyed a great weekend at this gorgeous Victorian B&B. The home is beautiful, our room complete with a four-poster bed, wonderful mattress and bedding, fireplace, jacuzzi, and even a massage! The breakfast was delicious too and Tamie & Doug are gracious and delightful hosts!

My favorite Ole and I stayed at the Historic Hutchinson House for a week during the Christmas concert at St. Olaf. We travelled to St. Olaf every day, because we were also doing research on his Norwegian heritage. The trip into Northfield is very easy. Tami's breakfasts are wonderful and varied, and she offered fresh fruit and/or veggies every day.... More

Our stay at the Historic Hutchinson House B&B was a totally enriching experience for us. Though its location in Faribault, MN is only a 45 minute drive from the Twin Cities, I felt totally transported to another time and place by this diamond in the rough! We were welcomed at the door by Tami and Doug, who were very gracious... More

Okay, if you want a kid friendly place with a breakfast buffet, swimming pool, and corporate dingy motel decorating this is not the place for you. A little romance or a quiet escape more your liking, then you couldn't find a better place. Rooms are comfortable, sleep and dream well, and then wake up to a delicious breakfast, plenty of... More

Wonderful night spent in a Fabulous house. Tami and Doug were the perfect host - making us feel like home! Very accommodating. Close to town with many places to shop and eat. Just wish the small town would not roll up the sidewalks so early and on Sunday. - They sure do miss out on shoppers.

Agreed! But remember, I'm here to help you find all the activities around the area that are worth doing. Shop during the day . . . and play during the night! The Paradise Center for the Arts has a play, concert, comedy show or special event happening most every weekend and River Bend Nature Center is a great place to... More

Amazing property in a excellently restored home on the Historic registry! It felt like the room was OURS, it was perfect with a great touch of history, but great accommodations I can't speak to the TV station offerings, we spent our entire evening reading about the rich history of the area, which I won't spoil here! Plan on many future... More

Wow! Thank you for the wonderful review . . . we're SO glad you enjoyed your stay! One of the things we love about our communal-style breakfast is that the guests have an opportunity to meet each other and learn about their lives and interests. It was fun to hear your story and we'll be hoping for an update soon!... More

Owners Tami and Doug are genial hosts of this bed-and-breakfast establishment, located in an historic mansion in the town of Faribault, MN - about an hour's drive to the Twin Cities and a half-hour drive to the college town of Northfield, MN. Hutchison House is a convenient place to stay when visiting kids enrolled at St Olaf or Carleton Colleges.... More

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the historic Hutchinson House B&B. The house itself is beautiful, filled with details of a turn of the century Victorian in her glory. The house has been lovingly restored and is a step back into time. We were in the Malone Suite and it was great--two bedroom suite with a really comfortable bed.... More

House and the rooms are must to see and stay. Breakfast is served as in four star Michelin restaurant. Rooms are relaxing very clean and decorated with style fitted to historical house. Neighborhood is safe and you can reach city center with only couple of minutes walk.
