This is a beautiful lake resort. Perfectly quiet with beautiful views from all cabins. We stayed in the Norway for 7 nights and the Point for two. Loved them both for different reasons obviously. The Norway is a cold water cabin with no shower and you heat water to do dishes. The Point is a fully functioning 2-bedroom cabin with... More

Noticed there haven't been many reviews over the Summer so I thought it was time to say this is a wonderful place to kick back and veg (or paddle and fish). We spent one week in the White Pine cabin and just loved it. Cabin was clean and equipped with almost everything you could think of. We'd planned to eat... More

We stayed in the Spruce Cabin for a total of 12 days, 5 with just two of us and a week with our grandson. We had a very nice time. As has been said already, there is lots to do in the Ely area, and just canoeing on Fenske Lake is fun, too! We had cookouts on campfires, and played... More

This was our second trip to Fenske Lake. We loved it there last year, and loved it now. Jackpine cabin is very comfortable, the lake is great for fishing and swimming. There are lots of hiking trails nearby - around the lake and within a few miles drive in the superior national forest. Laurie and Chris are great hosts. Our... More

Over the last few years we have been at Fenske 5 times. We stayed in several cabins - all with cold water only and a half bath. We were looking for an rustic cabin experience in a quiet setting and we obviously were not disappointed! We always caught a lot more fish than we could eat - some years catching... More

The Fenske Lake Resort Cabins are truly exceptional. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Jackpine cabin at the beginning of October 2011. The family that owns these cabins were great to work with - they could not have been kinder or more accommodating .The cabin was comfortable and relaxing, with just the right amount of amenities.... Spent 4 nights at Fenske resort and what a wonderful stay it was. We had a one bedroom (Norway) cabin...very simple, pine floors and walls, somewhat rustic but very comfortable. Pvt dock, canoe, full kitchen, outdoor grill and fire pit. Everything one could one for a great north woods stay. Beautiful lake...just a few miles from the Boundary Waters. Lots... More

We stayed in a one-bedroom cabin directly on Fenske Lake, just off the Echo Trail. Our cabin had all the comforts of home, including a refrigerator, stove, microwave and full range of dishware, pots and pans. You need to have all of your provisions with you because the ride to town (Ely) is about 30 minutes. We made all of... More

This was our first official non bushiness related vacation as a family and it truly was the best of anywhere we've been. Fenske Lake Cabins is really special and Laurie, Chris and family do a wonderful job of making it a relaxing space and time for guests. The accomodations were excellent, the views are spectacular and the whole experience is... More

This is a wonderful family-run resort. The cabins are nicely updated, the fishing is good - right from the dock, and the views are beautiful. Take a canoe or boat to the other end of the lake, take a hike, and come back to an old time sauna! Highly recommended.
