Had a great time at the B&B last weekend, Mark and Dawn are wonderful, generous hosts, making us feel so at home. The food and the accommodations were wonderful - Dawn is a fabulous cook, loved our breakfasts overlooking the lake and watching all of the birds and seeing a wolf cross the lake. Loved everything about the outdoor setting,... More

We brought our dogs and wanted beautiful scenery and relaxation. We found that and more. The owners are attentive to detail and passionate about their business. Breakfasts, cookies and amenities were wonderful. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

The Blue Heron is in a perfect location- it's just a few paddle strokes, ski kicks, or snowshoe steps away from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. A legal entry point for the park, it's hard to imagine staying any closer. The hosts Mark and Dawn are very friendly and welcomed us into their B&B with large tasty breakfasts, charming... More

It is a place to visit!! It is perfect for a winter break: frozen lakes, sauna, fantastic breakfasts and northern lights (if you are lucky). Everything makes you feel relaxed and warm. The owners are very welcoming!

This was our second stay in as many months at Blue Heron. Mark and Dawn are great hosts making you feel right at home. Breakfasts are creative and tasty and there are always fresh cookies, coffee and different teas ready for the making. Having direct, anytime access to kayaks and canoes is a definite bonus when it is included with... More

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Heron B&B July 19-22nd. It was our second time there. It was truly an amazing experience. We had heard there were new owners and hoped we would be taken care of as well this year as we were last year. We were far from disappointed. It's like Mark and Dawn have been... More

We couldn't have asked for a better getaway in our BWCA vacation. Dawn and Mark are warm, welcoming, and helpful...not to mention excellent cooks! Each breakfast was fabulous--from wild rice quiche and peach scones to pumpkin waffles, raspberry pancakes, made-to-order eggs, and eggs benedict! The Blue Heron is cozy, charming, and located right on Farm Lake, just outside the Boundary... More

I've never slept so well and eaten so well visiting the BWCA before! This so very much beats lugging around gear, donating blood to insects, and sleeping on rocks. And honestly, there were less people out on the lake here than on any of my previous BWCA trips. This B & B has very recently come under new ownership, and... More

Blue Heron sits on the the edge of a lake in the boundary waters of Minnesota. The house is large, comfortable and decorated to fit completely with its environment in the woods. Visitors can canoe the lake, hike or just enjoy the scenery without taking a step off the property. Dawn and Mark are friendly, helpful hosts. They know the... More

Home away from home. That's how we felt staying at the Blue Heron. Mark and Dawn made us feel so comfortable from the minute we arrived. I loved our room and I was most impressed by the cleanliness and physical comforts. We will definitely make the Blue a Heron B&B a destination again !
